we went to our interview today too. we sent the application on march 10. The officer was so polite and he actually been to my country and that made things good. he asked the usual questions, where we met, trips together , marriage date , looked at our big file and the proceeded to tell me and my wife that he would had approved the application today but there was a check-box in the medical exam that the civil surgeon forgot to check. We talked to the doctor to fix that error and we are sending that today to the IO via certified mail so he can approve us on Friday. I'm so relief and glad that I can star a new life with my awesome wife and soon see my family back in Paraguay.

I have to thank all of you here on VJ, you have asked and answer all our question and the guide was so good and we followed it line by line. Thanks a lot.!

I got my green card!!! =D

Our interview was scheduled to 11:30am. We got @ the Lawrence, MA office at 11, but there was so many people in there that we only got called at 12:15.

Our oficcer swore us in, and then asked me all the are-you-a-terrorist/a spy/etc questions.

She then asked were me met, confirmed our birthdays, asked if we've been married before, if we had any children. She looked at our wedding album, stopping here and there to ask "who's this person".

She asked me to confirm my current address, and the date we started living together.

That was it. It didn't take more than 10 minutes. Some of the questions were asked 3 times, and on some of them she would say the wrong thing, like "oh, so you guys got married 2 years ago, right?", to see if we would correct her.

It was easier than I thought.

Thank you VJers.... you guys made everything easier, helping a lot with the forms, and giving each other support on the moments of anxiety/doubt.

All the luck in the world for the ones that are still in the journey =)

And I hope to see you guys in Mar/2012 for the RoC!

Love,

Wow... there seems to be a lot going on with the March filers lately! Congrats everyone. :star:

I kind of wish I'd had an interview now, though I was dreading the potential 2 hr drive... but at least I'd hope to have some movement by now. I am getting increasingly frustrated at the lack of movement on ALL of my applications.

Don't feel too bad...mine still doesn't have his EAD or AP and our interview isn't until 7/7...

No updates on the website either.

But pretty exciting to see all the action happening ... Even more exciting hearing that the interviews are going well for people!

I'm going to start preparing everything for our interview soon ... My biggest fear is not having enough to prove a marriage! Funny thing is I like keeping things separate ...wouldn't be an issue if it was outside of AOS. It feels weird adding him to my stuff ... one of the compromises and adjustments I guess!

This wait is still 100 times better than K1 ...that was complete and utter torture! lol

So we went to our interview today and I hated it! We arrived and the officer asked us the regular questions: asked us to confirm our address, where and when we met (back in france 6 years ago), if our parents knew each other, if we knew each other's family, etc... But after that, she asked us to show some more proof of the validity of our marriage. Since we had put a huge amount of annotated photos that were taken all around the world on our many travels together, three affidavits including one from one of our wedding witnesses, our lease papers and our marriage certificate already in our file, we didn't bring many more proofs. So We showed her a few extra pictures that I had brought and made copies our our insurance cards that show that we are both on the same plan.

She asked us if some people in our family had sent us congratulations cards for our marriage and they did maybe 2 or 3 of them, but I hated myself at that moment cause I really didn't think of bringing them! So I apologize for not bringing them and she said that if we had been interviewed by someone else we would have been in more trouble etc. That comment scared me a great deal!

Also, Marc and I never actually proposed to each other. Marriage was something we had talked about for a while and we decided together to get married in September, even before we thought of staying in the US... So when she asked Marc how he had proposed to me... He was surprised by the question and said that it was a common decision. Also, since we got married only with 5 or 6 friends, it might have given her the idea that the wedding wasn't "real"... I don't know. I'm just speculating and worrying. (I excel at that!!)

So anyway, bottom line is we have been together for 6 years (anniversary on June 6th) and have lived together for 5 years. We ARE in love and want to be granted the right to live together. There's no fraud, no lie about the reality of our relationship and I think that it's obvious given the pictures etc.

So, hoping to be reassured, when the officer asked us if we had any further questions, I asked her "So... for what possible reason do you think the AOS could be refused?" and she answered with an obvious kind of tone "Well! You don't have many proofs of your marriage, you're young, I don't know... But if everything goes fine you should receive your card in the mail within a month from now."

I hated that answer! I thought: No proof of our marriage? We've been together for years, have loads of pictures, people's affidavit, pictures of the wedding, the honeymoon, and the marriage certificate! What more? We're young??? So what!? We got married last September and were both 23 years-old. I don't think it's really that young!!

We left with a paper giving the name of the officer with the boxes "Your case has been continued for the reason(s) checked below:" and "Further Review" that were both ticked. Since I noticed there is another box saying "Congratulations, your adjustment of status has been approved" that she DIDN'T tick, I'm extremely nervous and I feel like I'm going to pass out any time!!!

Do you guys think they might refuse us the AOS or that we might have another interview? Or di you think that the evidence we brought seems sufficient?

Take a deep breath, you're going to be fine. You may have a second interview and if so you will have more proof. Bring everything and the kitchen sink.. Do you have emails to each other and family talking about getting or being married, or even mentioning that you are moving back to the US to be together?

Our VisaJourney started July 2009 when I mailed the 129-F

@Jewel-8: Yes we have loads of e-mails, I'm sure we'll find some from our family. We'll find some cards sent by our parents and friends to congratulate us, etc. But I still hope we don't have a second interview.

Do you know if "further review" necessarily means that we'll have another interview or a strokes interview... Or is it that our officer didn't have the authority to approve the application herself? Do you guys know if most people get the "congratulations" box ticked right after the interview or if it's common to get the "further review" one?

Also, does any of you know how long it takes to get the acceptance notice in the mail or via e-mail after the interview?

Rhaaa I want this to be over!

Do you know if "further review" necessarily means that we'll have another interview or a strokes interview... Or is it that our officer didn't have the authority to approve the application herself?

It sounds like you got someone that was just not very confident in herself as a person. What a nutjob. It's almost like she wanted to make you feel bad. Maybe she is used to people kissing her a$$ or something? :innocent:

OK, time to leave work.. I'm getting crazy opinionated and ornery again. ;)
