Our AOS packet was delivered this morning!

A quick survey....how many of you submitted the vaccination supplement with your AOS? We did not for me, since all my shots were complete, and the rules say if they are complete, you don't need to. Guess we shall see if USCIS can read their own rules, or they RFE us!

Dave needed two shots. We got those and then had the civil surgeon fill out the form for $25. The way I read it they did need the I693 for everyone. Then again, I could have just been reading the paperwork to see how it applied to me and a close friend I have made on VJ that has a totally unimmunized(is that a word?) husband.

I didn't send AP yet. We should since his gran is 83 and he might need to get back there before the green card arrives. It was simply too confusing and the day had been a long one. Trust me when I say we had valid reasons to be lazy. I just hope that the paperwork we DID send will get processed quickly.

Did everyone else already have their social security number when they filed the AOS? We went ahead and wrote "Applied For" in that box. I plan to make a photocopy of the card and mail it with the AOS information off the NOA1 so they can add it to our file.

He got here less than 3 weeks ago. We applied on the 8th day he was here (2/26) and now it has been 12 days waiting for it. I guess social security cards normally take 2-4 weeks to arrive in the mail. I'm unsure.

What has been your experience with getting the social security card/number? Did anyone else also file AOS without it?

I already had a SSN, because I had lived in the US previously on an F1 visa and had work authorization through my school. When I applied for my number I got it really quick - like in four days. Everyone said it was a fluke! Did they give you an estimate as to how long it would be?

We also needed one more vacinnation and paid $40 for a civil surgeon to transcribe it onto the I-693.

I've read on the boards you don't need a SSN# to file for AOS.

Ours arrived in just under 2 weeks.
