Got my welcome notice in the mail today - very, very cool to see the"Welcome to the United States of America" up the top of it!

I'm also relieved, because I had started to convince myself that they made a mistake, and that there was no way I was approved yet. So this makes me very hopeful that the approvals will come rushing through for everyone!!

TA-DAAAA! I came home today and my bio appointment letter was in the mailbox! Right when I has a SR put in! It's really far though-- May 24th, so I might be try to walk- in. Thanks for putting up with my complaining!

The letters were dated 04/26- so I am wondering, wouldn't that have to be the last updated date? It still shows 04/07...Anyways, who cares right?

It was a good day today also because my husband was invited by his Graduate department in Long Beach to present his thesis again for the new Graduate class and he was awarded with the Dean's List Award- they are putting a plaque with his name on the Dean's office wall! Sorryyyy about this I'm just so proud (L)

Completed my biometrics this morning! I was scheduled for 8am so had to wait about 20 mins for the office to open. There were about 4 other people scheduled at the same time from what I could see, but it went very fast. In fact I was a little disoriented after she gave me my 'receipt'. I filled out their little customer service card (does everyone have those?), and kinda looked around like 'really??? I can go?'. I felt like I was sneaking out it was done so fast. lol

BIO @ Santa Ana office, CA

Hello,

We tried early walk-in appt 2 weeks ago and were told that they wouldn't accept walk-in and that if I wanted to change the appt then I needed to go to USCIS local office in Santa Ana as well.

So, this morning I took husband to USCIS office and explained to the immigration officer that husband doesn't drive and that I take him everywhere and I also work an hour away and my time is limited bc of work.

She asked well isn't there someone else? and I said no we don't have anyone else to take him. So can we do a walk in today since I didn't have work this morning ... she hesitated at first and then agreed and gave us a form that she filled out with today's date and time to take the bio stuff.

So we got to to the bio location exactly at 8:05 am (went to USCIS around 7:30) and he got out around 8:50. Took his fingerprints and photo ...and filled out a survey.

So our original appt date was on 5/6 - we gained a few days by going in early :)

no touches yet ...but glad we finally finished everything ..and now just a wait and see!

Congratulations everyone!! :) Good to see things moving along.

I wish my case would get transferred and save me the trouble of more effing paperwork!! I get the feeling it won't because I live in California. Oh well. I can dream.

Like I mentioned earlier in the thread, my husband "failed" biometrics (they could not get clear prints). He walked in and redid the biometrics today. They even apologized to him and said, "Hope you don't have to come in again." Yes I hope so too! Yay... now less talking, more card-producing please!!!

If anyone wants to know if you can walk in at the San Francisco office, the answer is yes

And I've heard numerous reports that they're so kind and respectful in there :)

Let's see some more approvals in here ;)
