Salamat, kwenbee :) Just itching to get the other 2 notices  By the way, how do you know if your application is touched? I just signed up in the USCIS website to check the status of my app from time to time. Thanks

welcome! :) since you've registered, click on sign in to my account. after that itll take you to your portfolio. if you've registered your case numbers, it will appear in your portfolio. once it's there, you can see the last updated date. if it changed since the last time you checked, that means your case was "touched" or updated.

In all my excitement of getting the receipts (that was a while ago), I wrote a how to guide:

http://alien2citizen.blogspot.com/2010/03/guide-how-to-check-your-case-status-on.html

Hopefully it'll be helpful to someone.

In other news, I FINALLY (1 month and 2 days after the receipt date) received my biometrics appointment letter today!!! I was already looking up how to schedule an infopass to check and stuff this morning and voila, it was sitting in our mailbox this afternoon when my husband picked up the mail. My hubby knew that I've been waiting for it so he was very proud to be the carrier of good news/letter :)

The last time my I-130 was updated was 3/25/2010 and all other three were last updated 4/1/2010. The notice date was 4/9/2010. So if some of you are still waiting for your appointment letter, do not despair! (Everybody on this board seems to be getting theirs much fast than mine, so I was definitely worried!)

I'm thinking of walking in tomorrow morning bright and early. Anybody know if Dallas takes walk-in (even though it says no on the USCIS website)?? I'm searching the forum for an answer but to no avail...

I'm keeping a blog detailing this journey!

Your case got transferred to CSC already?? Woohoo! Congrats! I doubt mine will be transferred w/o interview but hopefully at least no RFE.

Didn't end up going to the ASC this morning to try a walk-in. The ASC is on the other side of town (~30 min drive) so I might just be patient and wait until the appointment date. Besides, I've got lots of work to do :(

Sorry confuse, no Dave didn't get his biometrics letter yet. I think you are next in line. I'm excited that your daughter's papers were touched. Hopefully that means biometrics for you. Trust me I will pm you as soon as I hear anything on our case!!

ALW, Yes on the transfer! I'm excited that something happened. It's too bad the VJ list makes CSC look like there are no transfer AOS being approved. I almost wish that we would have had an interview now. I hope the paperwork flies through for you after your biometrics are done.

It really depends on the ASC. Our ASC is sooooo slow that transfer to CSC means it will still be faster for us. Some ASCs are actually quite a bit faster than transfer to CSC.

BUT... it really doesn't matter, right? Once you get your EAD and AP (if applicable), it really doesn't matter how long it takes the AOS to process through, right? You're in legal status, you're able to work, etc. And it's one less day of vacation needed for your spouse because of no interview. So even if it's slower to be transferred to CSC than your particular ASC's processing time, it's still more "convenient". But yes, looking back at the Dec. and Jan. filers a lot of filers who had an interview at their ASC got their GC before those transferred to CSC. Personally, I'm still happy ours got transferred. They can take all the time they want to process it, as long as Vicky can work (if she wants to) and her status here is legal I'm not too concerned about it. It doesn't affect the removal of conditions timeline, that's based on your wedding date. I don't really see a big down-side.

Isn't that only really half true? I mean, if you are married for more than two years at the time of your AOS being adjudicated, then yeah, you don't have to remove conditions, they should just give you the 10 year card. But, for most AOS applicants, their wedding date has no bearing on ROC, because you can remove conditions three months before the two year anniversary of you conditional green card - not your second wedding anniversary.

Naturalized Citizen January 14, 2014
