wow yours seems fast. I had the tracking number coz we sent ours thru Fedex. It arrived at Chicago lockbox on March 25 it says. Crossing fingers for NOA1 in the mailbox anytime this week.

If it was paid with a personal check, and if your bank shows it cashed, and if your bank has scans of the front and back of the check online, and/ or you can have them send you a copy of the cashed check; you can get the case number(s) off the back of the check and check the online site for status.

The check being cashed would indicate they are starting processing if your bank cannot provide a copy of the check to you, and you can anticipate a NOA soon.

We paid ours thru money order that my husband purchased at the bank. I can only check if the mail has arrived and that's it. I dunno if they have opened them yet or what =/

Still haven't received hardcopies but now my case shows up if I try to look up the status on the USCIS website, so they should be on their way!

Thanks , I hope it's on their way and NOA1 will be in the mailbox anytime this week. I have not included any G-1145 form in my AOS application. too bad=/ so I guess I'll just have to wait for the hardcopy in the mailbox.

Hi! some people say you can see the back of the check once it is cashed and that will be your case number. Then you can get online and sign up for updates. I never got to try this though since we got our G-1145, so they sent me a text 5 business days after we mailed out our application. Goodluck!!!

so far you have all given or completed your AOS, what im wondering is the I -131 neccessaly to hand in along with the I-485 and I- 765 if i do not wish to travel before the interview is finihed? IF so, how long is the wait to be able to visit family in Canada. Im currently living in the U.S with my new husband. We were married April.3,2010. We're new to this an arewaiting on some papers from the earlier stages of the k1- Finacee Visa to be couriered over to me. My visa expires on May.8, 2010.

I thought if you send in the AOS application via Fedex (or courier), it is an address other than the lockbox.

it's not needed, no, but, it's a nice thing to have. Your interview or green card approval may take months and months and months to come around. AP is usually approved in around three months, and it means you can go back home if you want while you are waiting. And since it is free to apply for along with AOS, why not take advantage?

Agreed. If there's a family emergency or ANY reason at all to go back to Canada while you're waiting for processing, you don't want to be in the position to not be able to go. It's no extra cost, and very little effort to add in that form to the rest of the AOS package. You really might as well do it. The rules for Canada are the same as any other country. If you travel outside the U.S. without AP before receiving AOS, consider your application voided basically.

Today I got this email message from USCIS -

The I485 APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS was transferred and is now being processed at a USCIS office. You will be notified by mail when a decision is made, or if the office needs something from you. If you move while this case is pending, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address or call our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283.

----

On April 1st my case was transferred to CSC....so is this email saying it has arrived at CSC, or it has gone from CSC to my local field office? I didn't think that my case would take a week to get from Missouri to California.

I think it just means that CSC got your application and they are acknowledging receipt of it. Some filers from February got the same emails just this week I think. Congrats on your transfer!

Finally got a job! so glad I got my EAD quick
