Long story short. Sent if off Feb. 5th. On the 24th they mailed off the RFE. We moved and they sent it to the old address. Won't resend it, since she said it can take up to 90 days to get here ( Yeah, right ). I am assuming they want this year's tax return. I sent 07,08 and the lease agreements and bank account statements. But I am not sure though. I do not want to waste 2 months. How would I do it if I decided to send them this year's tax return? Just send it to the address I sent the N-400 to and put the NOA number on it?

I wouldn't guess about the contents of any RFE. It may be that they are requesting updated tax information, and/or further evidence but you won't know that until you read the RFE. In addition, there may be a different address on the RFE for you to mail in the documentation in addition to a specific deadline by which you must mail in the requested documentation. Maybe requesting an Infopass appointment with your local office, may be of assistance.

Double check the letter and make sure if they are asking you to bring such documentation with you to your interview or they specifically asked you to mail them. Several people said they received such document and it was intended for the person to bring to the interview the requested documents.

Sven,

Come read on the March NVC forum page, a few of us have gotten oddball RFE's, you are really making a huge guess by just sending the taxes. I have an RFE for "court documents" which I don't understand, another girl for a police certificate and another got a request for bank statements. Can't they tell you over the phone what the problem is more specifically or did they email you anything? They should email everything to you...

You need to do an infopass. Based on the timing, it probably is your fingerprinting appointment and, except in rare circumstances, USCIS customer service reps don't know about it. At infopass, they could reprint your fingerprinting appointment letter.

I doubt they would email it to me and that it is about the fingerprinting appt. Online it says..

On February 24, 2010, we mailed a notice requesting additional evidence or information in this case N400 APPLICATION FOR NATURALIZATION. Please follow the instructions on the notice to submit the requested information. This case will be in suspense until we receive the evidence or the opportunity to submit it expires. Once we receive the requested evidence or information and make a decision on the case, you will be notified by mail. If you move while this case is pending, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address or call our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283.

A request for evidence is made when an application/petition is lacking required documentation/evidence (initial evidence) or the officer needs more documentation/evidence (additional evidence) to determine an applicant's eligibility for the benefit sought. We may send you a request for evidence at any stage of our review. The request will indicate what evidence or information is needed for us to fully evaluate your application or petition. The notice will explain where to send the evidence and will give the deadline for your response. Your application or petition will be held in suspense during that time. If you receive a request for evidence and have questions about what you need to submit, you may call our National Customer Service Center at 1-800-375-5283.

I also doubt an Infopass appt. will help. I did that once, back when I got the first GC, and I got nothing out of it. They didn't know anything. They will probably just tell me to wait 90 days...

That's the exact online status I and several others received and it turned out to be the fingerprinting appointment. Many who have not received their fingerprint appointment letter have successfully gone for Infopass and had a duplicate appointment letter reprinted. Why risk missing your fingerprinting appointment by not going for an Infopass, and risk having your application abandoned?

Hi Sven,

As told in-person by an immigration officer to me (in Buffalo, NY), when I inquired about the exact same thiing:

Question: I received a Case Status Information Update/RFE, by e-mail, dated September 22, 2009, with the following message: “we mailed a notice requesting additional evidence or information…the case will be in suspense until we receive the evidence or the opportunity to submit it expires. Once we receive the requested evidence or information and make a decision on the case, you will be notified by mail.” I have not received such a notice by mail, as of today, and would like to know if and when I will receive such a notice. I also have already submitted 100+ pages of additional relevant joint evidence with my initial application, and find it quite puzzling that the USCIS would require more evidence for my case. I would also like to know what is requested of me additionally, which I will gladly provide it to you if required and I have such evidence requested, so that my case can be further processed and not delayed.

Answer: "Your RFE e-mail is your fingerprints/biometrics letter. The additional evidence we request is your fingerprints to be processed and checked out by the FBI. Did you get your fingerprints letter (I said yes, and showed her the letter)? And no, you won’t be getting any additional letters for an RFE as the date of your fingerprints/biometrics letter is the same date as your RFE e-mail (which it is, as both are receipt dated September 23)."

For more information about my infopass/walk-in fingerprints experience on 9/30/09, you can read more about it here:

If you don't receive anything in the next couple of weeks, then you should inquire about your case further with an infopass appointment, and/or calling the mis-information/customer service phone number, to inquire further about your case..

Hope this helps. Good luck on the rest of your immigration journey too.

Ant

Thank you. I guess I'll have to go there....

Which one is it?

We offer 4 kinds of appointments for a case that you have already filed. Please choose from the following -

1.Order from Immigration Court - If you were directed to us for processing based on an order from the Immigration Judge. You must bring all documents required in the post order instructions given to you by the court.

2. Case Processing Appointment - If you received a notice to go to your local office for further case processing.

3. EAD inquiry appointment - If your I-765 employment authorization application has been pending for more than 90 days.

4.Case Services follow-up appointment - If it has been over 45 days since you contacted NCSC and have not received a response to your inquiry. You must bring the Service Request ID Number related to your inquiry to the appointment.

And I can't wait much longer, since if it's the fingerprint appt., I only have like 3 weeks left. I don't get it. I paid 675 Dollars and they still don't know how to do it right.

Sven-

Good luck with your infopasss appointment.Hope it clears things up for you there (like it did for me, and I got my fingerprints done at the same time too)

Lol...The USCIS never gets it right, money and all.....Seriously, if they were a business, they would be out of business and bankrupt by now....

Actually, the real infopass options are "none of the above" and "I need to go in-person to tell the USCIS to do their job properly...".

But since that option is not available...I think I picked...

"Case Processing Appointment - If you received a notice to go to your local office for further case processing.", as that most closely resembled my inquiry. Lol..After all, I did get a notice by e-mail for further processing.....

Hope this helps too. Good luck.

Ant

P.S. If you moved, did you file the AR-11 and I-865 too....Those are needed too....

As Ant+D+Baby suggested, you can do "Case Processing Appointment" or you can also choose "You need information or other services" on the first or second screen. Just print out your case status online and bring that with your NOA. Tell them that you believe that it is your fingerprinting appointment and that it wasn't mailed to you, and that you can't afford to delay fingerprinting.

Oh, I've read earlier that someone who did that was able to get a fingerprinting appointment on the same day as InfoPass so bring your green card just in case. Since you are going to be at the district office and the application support center could be within the same vicinity, you might be able to do walk-in fingerprinting.

Since it's only been 7 days since they sent it out, I suggest you wait about another week or so. I got my FP letter about 10 days or from the notice date, so you should give it a chance to be forwarded to your new address. Also, make sure you give USCIS a call and update your address as an AR-11 by itself will not be sufficient for that purpose.

Sven, not the I-865. You need to call National Customer Service Center at (800) 375-5283 and do the change of address over the phone. Good luck!

Sven- You need to do BOTH the AR-11 and I-865....

The AR-11 is for the Alien Change of Address...Which can be done online and/or mailed in...

The I-865 is for the Sponsor Change of Address...Which has to be mailed in....

See the USCIS forms here for more info: http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis/men...00045f3d6a1RCRD

Good luck..Hope this helps too.
