I-864?

I think you got the 'original documents requirement' confused between the I-864 and the DS-230.

There's a stringent requirement on the DS-230 for

--original documents plus

--one photocopy

here's the 'official' I-864 checklist -

http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3200.html

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

darnell,

please do NOT kill me. seriously, seriously, SERIOUSLY--ORIGINAL PLUS PHOTOCOPY for DS-230 or PHOTOCOPIES FOR EVERY SINGLE DOCUMENT?

my excuse for asking tons of ridiculous things and making mistakes...

working on gallery show and visa sh. simultaneously.

not a good excuse, i know.

ya - i get that way sometimes, too.

I am ####### about paperwork, even more ####### about having the right info for the paperwork.

when i get into the same state, as you - i slow down.

and

--get a clean sheet of paper

--review my prior notes then

--write up something on the clean sheet of paper then

--compare my prior notes to the new sheet o notes

then put it all away - get into the garden, move 3 yards of dirt with a shovel.

Maybe you need to go pound a tree, or something physical ?

Physical activity, for me, helps loads with staying 'straight' on any mental process.

IMO - take a break - get some exercise.

or something.. any thing.. as long as its not 'words on a screen or paper'.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

hei!

DS-230 - original plus a photocopy.

if 'the original' is not available - a CERTIFIED PHOTOCOPY is acceptable - but - the certification must be from the original issuing authority.

here's the Gospel -

Hang Loose, you... Unless yer in Hawaii - you've missed the time for the postal drop for today anyway.. Relax.

Relax some more. Need something to do that's not 'this' paperwork related?

Take photos of yer accordian collator device, post it in yer gallery here .

I agree with darnell... take a break, so something different and go back to it or you will make errors and get comfused... clear your head...

Then; The 864 is the package from the USC... it includes an original 864 form signed by you... and copies of your financial documents (copies are OK)

The 230 is the info fro the foreign spouse... these need to be original forms and documents from the issuing authority...

Write the case # on EACH piece of paper you turn into them... Then... I recommend you send the package PLUS one photocopy of the package to NVC... ANd I made 2 other sets of complete paperwork so I had one and my husband had one... Same goes for the 230...1 full set of original documents and one full set photocopy (so you can get your original documents back)... plus 2 sets for you and spouse...
