Ya'll were killing me with the money stories, but Irie's took the cake. I never heard of coins being stored in the "third pocket."

JG, why do you want to beat William Shatner in the head?

I got a call from a Google recruiter a few years ago about moving west & working there. I wasn't interested in moving west. But the fact that employees get to spend 1 day/week working on their own initiatives is awesome, as well as the lunches.

SunRay, I don't understand the rooms for breastfeeding. They just started that at my job a couple of years ago. But I never ever ever see women with their newborns at work, so I wonder when they would use those rooms.

MrsTee, any updates on the wedding certificate?

KJenkins, congrats on your man's arrival!

Q - I can tell you about this firsthand, just my opinion though...My mom was cremated because it was what she wanted. I think that if there is very little money cremation is the way to go. I also pushed the button that started the creamation machine and it was one of the hardest things I had to do. The down side to cremation is that you don't have a gravesight to go visit the person time after time. With cremation, you can keep the ashes if you like. I took mom to VA Beach and one night I stood along the ocean line, said a prayer and released most of her ashes. I kept a little. I always joke and tell people its her big toe lol

And personally if you are going to do the gravesight, who really wants to do that and not have a stone?

Some people are not going to like this but IMO

Ok maybe you should explained to him. i dont want to live some where.. where life as I am used to.. is not always secure. The options America leaves for people are unbelievable. Some Jamaicans dont agree with the culture of American and thats fine, you can have Jamaican culture in America. Some people are not used to getting everything the american way.. and dont wish to bend to anything else. One thing about the US, you can do any rass thing you set your mind on in this country, and actually make money off it. And i love that.. in jamaica. the smallest idea can take you some place.. but it will never take you to far.. unless you hussle your way. The jamaica his parents grew up in is gone. For good... the jamaica he probably grew up in is getting worse, not better, and the main reason is= all the educated are leaving (SMH), and not coming back to make it better, so if he want to go back he should stay and make that money and maybe one day he will realize he love his country enough to try and return to help it out. Not go back because its easier. But one thing is and this is so true Americans are lazy and a Jamaican can have alot here because of their work ethic.

Be blessed momma and Pray because got can change the heart of all. (F)

Thanks. I think that you are right some Jamaicans do go back because it is easier. I am not from Jamaica so I can't tell how life is there. My family is from the Bahamas and I know right now alot of them are catching h*ll with companies and hotels closing/laying off all the time.

I can only pray that God steps in and show us the way.

Thanks again.

Nat - when you breastfeed, your breast leaks alot. The rooms are for you to pump the milk in privacy. I think you have to 2-3 times a day. Not exactly sure since I never breastfed but my coworker does.

Yep one of the attorneys here pumps like 3 times a day and she puts a note on her office that says...please knock and wait for a response before you enter...

I am all for cremation - One part of my family has travelled (and now some moved) to a beach area for years - everyone in the family is cremated when they have passed, and their ashes are scattered on the same beach. With the first person, this really pretty blue butterfly appeared and was flying around us all - Since then, there is one more butterfly each time someone passes - and the only place down there we see them is on this beach.

I know the CT Lawyers are doing a ton of probono work for this, probably NY too - Here is a link to the CT attorney info, they have clinics, etc...

Clutch the pearls, :wow: I will respond the rest uno momento trying to knock these orders out

hey ya'll!!! wanna thank EVERYBODY for the love on yesterday.. texts, fb comments everything.. i love my i-family!!!!!!!!!!

i am thankful that we all got to be with my dad his last mnth.. we talked and laughed and i know it was God cuz he could have easily died without us having this chance..

question...what do you think about cremation.. i personally have nothing against it, but some familymembers are tripping for real.. my dad has no money and cremation is the most affordable route but for a couple more hundred we could have just a gravesite burial w/ no head stone..

just looking for a lil more knowledge on the subject

Quanna ((( hugs)) Yes Sis praise God for the time you had with him (F) I know this is not easy but I know that funerals and the choices that have to be made cause too much family drama. Aside form the financial aspect did he ever voice his actual wishes?

How did they fare, Tre?

They're still there JG...it wasn't easy, but they made it work. They didn't go right away. One waited until her kids were in high school and they went to live with their dad. That was a 6 year wait, but she traveled back and forth to Jamaica to see her husband. They found work, though it took time. Teaching the other is a nurse can't remember what the other one did for a living. She may have opened a school. My friend who didn't move down until her kids finished highschool -- her kids would spend the entire summer in Jamaica and the oldest goes to UWI.

********************************************************************************

....when it hurts to look back and you're scared to look ahead LOOK beside you and I'll be there.....

There comes a point in your life when you realize who matters, who never did, who won't anymore... and who always will.

So, don't worry about people from your past, there's a reason why they didn't make it to your future.

Molly's first one ended up with the head torn off....It was like 3 years old by then. Her brother and her wrestled with the giant Raggedy Ann and Andy till they tore the arms, legs, and heads off and I had to sew them back on so my mom wouldn't see the made to order dolls she was so proud of were disabled. And, don't even get me started about the 20 guinnea pigs we ended up with, the thousands of beeds or 10 lbs. of rice strewn all over her bedroom! She has issues at times.

I LOVE ME SOME RAGGEDY ANN AND ANDY

I was looking for MrsTee's comment. The loss of a parent is something that you can't describe. Those of you who still have your parents need to cherish them and spend as much time as you can with them because you can't do when they are gone.

I know you asked for opinions, but Quana don't make the choice based on what other people say. That's your dad and you when you make your final decision on choose to do, you want to be sure it's what YOU really wanted otherwise you will always think about if you made the right decision. Follow your heart. My dad died in 95 at the age of 47 with no insurance and we got his stone later. I was much younger and had to handle everything. It was a tought time so I really know how you feel. Hang in there.

thanks hun.. i already made the arrangements for cremation, but some family do not agree, i don't mind doing a burial, but so far, i don't hve any monies, altho they said they would by this weekend. so i will be financing the cremation..if they don't give me any money at least i know i can afford the cremation

i personally have never went to visit a gravesite, none of my grandparents, my aunt or my niece and don't see myself doing it now so i don't know what else the gravesite is for.. some ppl say the burning of the body is defamation i guess, but i don't understand that all the way when you are already dead and ur spirit w/ God
