so Shemmy will you be going all NATURAL?

I had my daughter natural...i just had an IV so i wouldn't get dehydrated but no epidural or spinal tap or anything like that...I started having contractions 6:am...I weighted it out...took a shower...drove my son to school....(this was dumb I admit cause the contractions would hit hard and I had to pull to the side until it stopped)...coming back home I had to make my husband drive cause i couldn't take the pain anymore...(he didn't have a license but i was willing to take the chance)...I had him drive me to my doctors office and he checked me and said to meet him at the hospital...Still tried to ride out the contractions and finally went to the hospital by 12:30pm...they hooked me up, water broke at 2:pm and had baby at 2:38pm...

I think this is related to Ells' post in that men can be quite insensitive & leave a lot of housework for women to do, but they sure do miss us when we're not around!

I loved math when I was younger. Even in college, calculus was okay. It was those classes AFTER calculus that were the DEVIL. I can't even remember them, but I took 7 semesters of math in college & got a minor in it. Don't use a single lick of that info now.

Steven doesn't use the washer/dryer either, but it doesn't bother me. Of all the household chores, that's the easiest one. But hanging up the clothes. Won't be me! We share cooking & he cleans the kitchen more than me. But he always takes out the trash and always checks the mail. When my father visited us last Monday, Steven cleaned everything and vacuumed. I can't even guess the last time I did that.

LOL @ one clear nostril. Those days are definitely not fun.

That's good you're taking time to plan your words & delivery. As I told this one guy at church who told this talk-ative girl that she talks too much: If you want people to take your medicine, coat is with something smooth instead of with thorns.

MrsBuggy, your recap of that episode of Everybody Loves Raymond definitely happened in my house growing up, but with my younger sister. This girl used to STAY acting like she didn't know how to sweep, mop, do laundry, clean the kitchen so that my mother would continuously "show" her. The ploy was obvious to my brother and me, but my mother fell for it for years.

I thought you had a housekeeper? What does she do?

That was great that you and your Mom were there to step in and take care of him. I heard that postpartum depression is something else.

It really is. She still suffers from depression but im proud of her because she has taken the necessary steps to help herself. I had to be there to take care of him. I love children. I think that they need to know that at least one person cares. It makes them feel good and loved. I see that in you with your son Dills. That's why I want to be a teacher. Who knows if I will be that one difference in a child's life....
