I cut the ends off and put them in the soup stock bag in the freezer. Then I peel the remaining cloves and put the peels in the composter. I slice the peeled cloves for every application because I can't be bothered with the pain in the neck feeling of looking down at the chopping board for the time it would take to dice or---heaven forbid!---mince them.

As for gadgets for preparing garlic? I pass.

Garlic is great! If you can, try some of the other kinds of garlic besides just the usual variety:

I chop, slice, dice, smash, roast, use whole, and even sometimes press garlic depending on what I use it for. I keep a jar of the minced garlic around to use for quick marinades if I'm in a hurry, but never use it when cooking. It does not taste the same. I usually only use the press if I am making dinner and don't want my hands to smell like garlic forever.

Life is a ticket to the greatest show on earth.

Cool! I'll give them a try if I can find them at the local grocers.

we rarely use garlic coz I don't like the smell of it but on occassions that I need to use it, I crush it with a knife then slice it. I don't like using garlic press coz the oil smells like its not gonna come off from your hands in weeks! and the ones in jars smells just horrible, makes me puke! garlic is just not for me.
