What name do I use

Hi everyone,

I'm in Egypt right now and my passport has my maiden name in it....so when I fill out the forms do I use my maiden name or the name of my husband which I will adopt in USA? I plan to file here from Egypt and don't know if I will go home until he has his interview here, so I want to make sure and fill it out right but at the same time usually women here don't adopt their husbands names..Also, how many names is he supposed to put ? 4 or 5? Any advice for me on this subject?

I would suggest that you use the name that appears on your evidence documents (passport, etc.). That cuts down on confusion. I've changed my name twice, so I added a continuation sheet with the question about names used, then listed the names and why I used them. I also explained that I was now in the process of changing my name to my married name (my choice) on legal documets, so the I-129F (aimming for a K3 visa) will reflect the changes made so far.

Well, I'm no expert, but I would think if you have not changed your last name officially via social security and things like that then use your name as it appears, and as szsz said, include explanations if you feel there could be confusion.
