It's ####### is what it is, and when you point out to the science phobes that it's #######, they don't get why it's ####### even when you explain carefully why it's #######.

Here is the false point.

"The Vikings discovered and settled Greenland around A.D. 950. Greenland was then so warm that thousands of colonists supported themselves by pasturing cattle on what is now frozen tundra. During this great global warming, Europe built the looming castles and soaring cathedrals that even today stun tourists with their size, beauty and engineering excellence. These colossal buildings required the investment of millions of man-hours -- which could be spared from farming because of higher crop yields."

If only that was the case, that all the scientists were worried about was keeping the funding coming in. No, the reasons are far more insidious than that. What we have now, is a scientific community with an agenda. The agenda evolves from the perceived need to instill a conscience onto what was once a community given to impartial observation.

Whatever scientific rationale you thought you had trying to debate with me on the science of Global Warming gets eclipsed by your paranoid lunacy.

The vikings settled on the Southern part of Greenland where it is warmer. They didn't bother going up North. There was no bones, hearth found in the Northern part of greenland where people lived. Greenland was always cold.

No one claimed Greenland was ever a complete tropic-like island but Wiki says this which kinda makes you look silly.

>>The settlements, such as Brattahlið, thrived for centuries but disappeared some time in the 15th century, perhaps at the onset of the Little Ice Age.[10] Interpretation of ice core data suggests that between 800 and 1300 AD the regions around the fjords of southern Greenland experienced a mild climate, with trees[citation needed] and herbaceous plants growing and livestock being farmed. Barley was grown as a crop up to the 70th degree [11] What is verifiable is that the ice cores indicate Greenland has experienced dramatic temperature shifts many times over the past 100,000 years.[12]

Not nearly so silly as the person who made this statement:

While endless keening is heard over the Arctic ice cap, we hear almost nothing of the 2009 report of the British Antarctica Survey that the sea ice cap of Antarctica has been expanding by 100,000 square kilometers a decade for 30 years. That translates into 3,800 square miles of new Antarctic ice every year.[/b]

No Pat, the decline of one is not simply cancelled out by the growth of the other. These are two regions that are literally poles apart (yes, really!) and the impact of their respective responses to the forces behind climate change are necessarily completely unconnected. Perhaps he also believes we can simply make more in the refrigerator?
