hello everybody

me and my fiance(american citizen) we want to get married in my country so my familly to participate to our wedding and we think that is the fast way so we can live togheter in USA. my question is when we can start to apply for cr1 visa ? how long we must be married so we can be able to apply for visa?we can apply right away or we must wait a month,a year?

i will be very happy if you can help me with this questions, even maybe seams to naive....

You will need a copy of your marriage certificate for the I-130 but once you have that you can submit any time. We were able to obtain our marriage certificate the day we were married and our package was sent out immediately. Good luck on your journey.

Same here. I filed about 3 weeks after we got married but only because I had to travel back to the US; otherwise, I would've filed the day we had received our marriage certificate. :)

thank you very much for your quiq answer...i have another question because i want to make sure : we don't need to stay like one month,year and after that to apply so we can prouve them that this marriage is for real not just to take visa?and after we apply form I-130 he can come back in USA?or he must stay with me in my country till i get the visa?

Your husband (the US citizen) does not have to stay with you, most couples are separated during the process. You can begin to collect evidence of your relationship (photos, emails, chat logs etc.) as evidence of the validity of your marriage to be presented at your interview. After our wedding I returned to Canada for the duration of the process.
