LOST GREEN CARD

We applied for removal of conditions using the I-751 (ROC) in Oct 2009, but my wife lost her wallet with all of her I.D.s including the Provisional (2 year) Green Card about two weeks ago. She has already completed her biometric appointment in St. Louis in December 2009. And, we received her one year extension as her application is being processed in California Service Center. Therefore, no new Green Card was sent to us.

How does one get a duplicate Provisional Green Card when expired Green Card was lost, misplaced or missing? I think my 20 month old son must have been playing with his mother's wallet and put somewhere in the house. Yes, we tore the house apart looking for the wallet, but there is no sign of it anywhere. :crying:

What is this process for Temporary Green Card replacement?

Removal of Conditions Time-line to Permanent Resident

10/22//09- Mailed Petition Via USPS Certified Mail

10/29/09- NOA received: 21:23 AM on November 29, 2009 in LAGUNA NIGUEL, CA 92677.

11/12/09- Check Cashed

11/13/09- Received Appointment Letter for Biometrics

12/09/09- Biometrics in St Louis, MO

Waiting???? No card, nothing on USCIS as progress of petition for Change of Status

2/20/10 Unable to find wallet with Provisional Green Card.

look to form I-90... however, you may be just weeks away from the 10 yr card... I assume you have reported it lost...

i don't think she necessarily needs one. it might be good to notify USCIS (somehow) that the card was lost. but personally, i am already on my second I-551 stamp in my passport, and every time i have traveled out of the country, when i come back into the US and present my letter and my green card, the immigration officers have given me back my green card telling me it wasn't necessary since it was expired, what they needed was the letter (and in my case, the stamp in my passport, because my letter is expired now too!)

K1 visa

K1 Visa process took about 1 year, got married on January 13, 2006.

Got my green card on October 5, 2006.

Removal of Conditions

September 15, 2008: I-751 package sent

November 1, 2008: Received NOA

Januar 13, 2009: Biometrics appointment in Buffalo

May 2009: Notice of case transfered to California

August 3, 2009: received RFE letter; sent in evidence 2 weeks later, USCIS confirmed reception

March 03, 2010: Filed form DHS-7001 with CIS Ombudsman, and contacted my local Congresswoman to try to get my case pushed through.

June 5, 2010: Letter from CIS Ombudsman telling me USCIS is not ready for a decision yet. They didn't give me a timeline for when to expect a decision... this is getting worst...

August 2, 2010: Infopass appointment for I-155 stamp in my passport. Agent who helped me is going to get my file from California and process it himself!

August 10, 2010: Email from my Congresswoman's office, USCIS still not ready for a decision, told to wait another 90 days. And email from agent at local office telling me that his request to get my file was denied by California...
