I socred 8 of 21. 6 of those were pure guesses too. I luckily knew the first oil city one though as I had a friend that is from there and he would remind me all the time it was the first oil wells (he said in North America)...

Nah...it's not like they're all common knowledge questions.

People should know things like how many provinces and territories there are, what the most recent territory is, who was the only female Prime Minister etc. I don't think people are expected to know that Newfies are "herring chokers" or that Tahtsa Lake had the most recorded snowfall in Canada...
