Hello,

Me and my husband had our AOS interview Feb 23, 2010. The IO asked us just verification questions which we were able to answer. The IO proceeded to ask us the yes/no questions. Then the IO asked for supporting documents of our marriage. We provided her with numerous documents. At the end of the interview the IO said that we will receive a decision in the mail by the end of next week. She took I-94 during the process of the interview.

Can someone tell me if that was good or bad. Please help!!

Taking the I-94 from the passport is a good sign. It means that the IO doesn't expect you need to turn it in when you next leave the US as you will have a green card instead. It sounds like an approval coming to me as well.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

Hello everybody! My husband and I had the green card interview yesterday and it was really short. IO just asked for identification documents (i.e. birth certificates, citizenship proof, my passport) and nothing else. She did not ask for any supporting documents, no pictures, no bank statements, nothing but identification documents, and she just questioned me( I am beneficiary), quick questions like my name, date of birth, current address, employment status, no questions about marriage, about how we met, she did not ask my husband any questions. Interview lasted less than 10 minutes, she took the I-94 of my passport and she just said "we'll get back to you", we asked when, she said the decision needs to be made within 160 days, thats the law, but we can hear from them any day. She practically said nothing. Such a short interview, no questions about our marriage, no supporting documents ( we brought the whole bag for nothing). I asked her if I could travel while the AOS is pending, she said I could travel on my AP as long as there's no negative decision made on our case and as long as our case is pending. We left so disappointed, I am now very upset cause I dont know what to think, is that short interview with no questions good or bad thing, she took my I94- is that good or bad, do I dare to travel, I have to go home to complete my master. Anybody had similar experience, please reply! Thank you

Hi! Oh my goodness...I wonder if we had the same exact IO?!? that happened to us at our interview yesterday for my husband's green card in Los Angeles. She didn't ask me anything and my husband is the petitioner! Didn't ask ANYTHING about our marriage. She handed us a paper at the end that said additional review of case/background check needed. We left so confused and disappointed as well.

Have you heard anything back?? Best wishes with your green card!

My status was updated that my AOS was approved after 2 months and 1 week after the interview. The shorter times you see here for some people are the "best case" scenarios. Just have patience.

They did take my I-94 as well. Good luck!

Hey,

I wonder if you heard from USCIS. I went for interview on September 6th 2011 and it was ok. The I.O said he was busy and would make decision by the end of the week. Today is almost a month after the interview and I haven't heard nothing from them.
