Hello everyone! I just received my NOA2 and I am happy as a clam! I just have some questions regarding which documents I can send. Can anyone help me? The following was taken from the NOA2 checklist:

What to send to your fiance(e) once the I-129F is approved (Receive NOA2):

1. A copy of the entire I-129f package (that you made when you sent the petition in) and a copy of information that you sent back due to an RFE (if you received one). I have a copy of this but do I also need to take another passport photo?

2. Send all originals of the documentary proof that you submitted for the I-129F to your fiance(e) for their interview at the embassy. Are these just the original photos, boarding passes, letters and emails I sent with the I-129F? I have recently found other evidence that I should have included when I first sent the I-129F. Should I include this as well?

3. Send an original letter affirming your desire to marry your fiance(e) and your continued support of the K-1 Visa. Sign and date the form. This will be similar to the letter you provided with the I-129F, but dated much closer to the interview (it will have most likely been several months since you submitted your I-129F). Is this exactly what I originally sent with the I-129F except with a current date? Do I also add something along the lines of "I also intend to support my finance financially..."? Does my fiance create another letter as well?

4. I-134 Affidavit of Support form. Ensure it is signed, with all required supporting evidence. Begin collecting the required information ahead of time, as it can often take several weeks to collect it all.

5. You will likely need at a minimum (for the above form) two to three of your most recent pay stubs and a signed letter from your employer listing you job title, start date, your salary, and the status (full-time) of your position. Begin collecting these ASAP after your NOA2 arrives. You will also probably want to include other evidence such as your banking information and other assets as required by the I-134. Specifically you will need at least 2 of the 4 options mentioned in Section II-Supporting Evidence of the I-134. See this FAQ for more tips and useful information on the Affidavit of Support Form. Alright, so what I will do is complete the form and I will provide a letter from my employers stating my job status with the company and salary. I will also include the past 3 months worth of pay check stubs and the past 3 years of W-2 forms. I just need COPIES of these, right? No originals? Is this enough evidence?

6. A copy of the NOA2 that you received in the mail. Self explanatory.

7. Proof of your ongoing relationship. This needs to be taken to the interview! Include photos, travel documents, emails, etc from between the time you filed and present (NOA1 date-now). Alright, so I do not have to worry about sending this proof until his interview date right?

A few more questions:

When should I send all of these documents to my fiance? When will they all be needed? Should I send using DHL? Do I wait for packet 3?

Should I contact my congresswoman/man and/or senator? If so, when and what should I say to them?

Thank you everyone! :)

Get your letters of employment verification and all your original documents together and send them to your fiance. Original paystubs, original birth certificates, original divorce decrees (if necessary) original EVERYTHING. If you found additional evidence, send it....always err on the side of caution.

You'll get everything back after the interview.

Make sure you make at least two copies of EVERYTHING for your records as a back-up here in the US so you have something to compare if your fiance has questions. You might as well send your proof of relationship (phone bills etc.) now, it's a small fortune to ship overseas and yes you will definitely want to use FedEx or DHL so you can insure and track the package.

Hope that helps,

Thank you so much for your reply. I have originals although I am not certain when I should send everything. I am going to visit him in Mid-April so should I wait until then or he needs all of this information ahead of time? As far as the Affidavit of support, I now make more than last year with my same company. Should my letter and form indicate what I made in 2009 or what my current salary is? I also get a bonus check once a year.

Congratulations on having your petition approved! :)

You will need to send your fiance an entire copy of the I-129F packet. Your original birth certificate, divorce decree (if there's any), all your pictures together.. An updated letter of intent, your fiance should write one too.. A cover letter from both or one of your parents would give you a bonus (if they look at it at the interview).. Copies of your tax returns and your cosponsor's (if you have one).. Pay stubs.. Your original snail mail between you and your fiance, phone bills, and cards..

He'll only need copies for packet 3 as far as I remember except for his police clearance(s).

It would be good if you have him photocopy packet 3 after filling the forms out so he can revise it before going to the interview.

Is this exactly what I originally sent with the I-129F except with a current date? Do I also add something along the lines of "I also intend to support my finance financially..."? Does my fiance create another letter as well? YES to first and NO to second. She/He can state that in person to the CO.

4. I-134 Affidavit of Support form. Ensure it is signed, with all required supporting evidence. Begin collecting the required information ahead of time, as it can often take several weeks to collect it all. Yes, like tax transcripts can take a couple of weeks.

5. You will likely need at a minimum (for the above form) two to three of your most recent pay stubs and a signed letter from your employer listing you job title, start date, your salary, and the status (full-time) of your position. Begin collecting these ASAP after your NOA2 arrives. You will also probably want to include other evidence such as your banking information and other assets as required by the I-134. 6. A copy of the NOA2 that you received in the mail. Self explanatory. Copy

7. Proof of your ongoing relationship. This needs to be taken to the interview! Include photos, travel documents, emails, etc from between the time you filed and present (NOA1 date-now). Alright, so I do not have to worry about sending this proof until his interview date right? Yes and I'd add that a letter describing your ongoing relationship including the lovey-dovey stuff will not hurt.

A few more questions:

When should I send all of these documents to my fiance? When will they all be needed? Should I send using DHL? Do I wait for packet 3?

Should I contact my congresswoman/man and/or senator? If so, when and what should I say to them?

Send so they get them before the interview. At the interview. I used FedEx. I sent about the same time. What will the Congress-person do? If they have passed legislation you agree with you might tell them you appreciate it and will vote for them next time.

Thank you everyone! :)

Thank you Baron and Thank you Aya! My tax return will take at least 3 to 4 weeks to arrive! My last questions is, does my fiance need all of the documents to take to the interview or does he submit them to the consulate ahead of time? If this is the case, then I can just bring all the documents with me when I visit him in April. Thanks again!

The answer is consulate specific. Check with the Embassy's website for info.

He will only need copies for packet 3. I know you're concerned about losing any of your original documents in the mail, but you really should not be. John sent me all his originals via USPS priority mail, and it arrived on time.. If you want to be extra sure it will arrive safe send it via Fedex or DHL... I don't think his interview is going to be scheduled any time in March, but you never know... So sending the originals ahead of time is always a safe bet...

Shokrun, habibti! I just wanted to make sure I have enough time to gather everything. I think I will be ready by the end of March :)
