I have read many posts on where to get the A number, and it still isn't clear. Some say it is under annotation on the visa and on the back of the I-94. Others say it is the number on the NOA 2 above the beneficiary name. On my K-1 and I-94, the number is WAC-xx-xxx-xxxxx, the same as my receipt number on my NOA 2. But the A number is different on the NOA 2 by the beneficiary name. It is AXXX-XXX-XXX. Did they make a mistake on my visa and I-94 by using the WAC number? Which is the correct A number?

Yes, the Alien # is the one on the NOA 2 near your name that has the A at the beginning.

The consulate may have done something unusual, possibly printing your consulate case number on your visa instead of your A#. I don't know. Either way, the PoE probably just copied whatever they saw on your visa onto the I-94. That's what they did on mine. But I assure you, the A# printed on your I-129F NOA2 right above your name is definitely your A#.

Even if they did make a mistake on your visa, it doesn't matter now. The visa only has to get you past the PoE, and get you an I-94. And it has done that. Once it's done that, it's irrelevant. You don't need to worry about it. :)

The I-129f receipt number 'WAC#' in our case, was printed on the Visa along with the petitioner's name (thats so the then-fiance didn't forget who to marry...) On ours, the A# is also on the visa - just after the "WAC#" (it can also be found in other places; Written on the back of the I-94 or on the NOA2/Approval notice under/above the beneficiary's name). The non-immigrant visa number would appear in red (for when you get to needing that number).
