Yep, that's right.

We have to figure out a good way to get to Kiev from Kharkov still. Once we have the interview date we'll plan. For now, we just need to get TO NVC....OUT of NVC and TO Kiev pronto. I need this interview to happen before May (since May 1st-10th) there will be a standstill due to holidays

There really isn't a standstill. The consulate will be closed for May 1 and for May 9 and that is all. If either of those fall on a weekend, they will close on either Friday or Monday. Not to say there won;t be a slow down or a lot of people absent, probably so, but officially anyway the consulate will be open except for those two days.

Well, all I can take off work is 2 weeks. So I need interview to happen Mon-Tues and then hope we get the visa delivered back to Kharkov within 10-12 days.

With holidays we might not be able to meet those timelines, and I'd hate to fly back without her

Mapt, I don't remember if you are going to the interview all packed and ready or not, but if so you may be fine. I went for two weeks as well, and we interviewed, picked up the visa (in Kiev) and flew back with no problems. Well, no logistical ones anyway.

Yeah....her packing will probably be occurring after we have the visa in hand. Superstitions and all.
