Oops - I missed the $70 for the I-864 (affidavit of support) when it reviewed by the department of state. Not sure when this is to be paid so dont know if you will be paying it upfront.

Someone correct me if I am wrong please.

I would get the AOS in at least a week or two before your visa expires. Just depends on your situation (Who is your petitioner? USC / LPR?).

Also know that medical I-693 costs money... You have to pay a civil surgeon to complete the medical workup on you/vaccinations, etc. I have seen people pay 150-350 for a full I-693. We ended up paying 300, and then 50 for an xray because of the false-positive tb test.

Overall cost is going to be more than $1435. You also need to get a medical done I-693. It could cost as much as $500 depending on where you are and what vaccination records you have. I'm in the same boat as you. I'm on F1 visa and getting married to US citizen. I'm getting my medical done for $168, but if I need vaccinations (I don't have any previous records of it), its probably gonna be more than twice that amount.

Hm, that's not the end of it as others here have already stated. If money is that tight for you, you might want to start looking into the requirements for the I-864 (Affidavit of Support). If your soon to be wife is not making enough money to support not just herself but also you, you will need to find a co-sponsor or your Adjustment of Status application won't get approved. The details of requirements for I-864 as well as all the required fees can be found in the documentation of the forms themselves, so I suggest you download the most recent versions from USCIS' website and read through those few pages. Also, if you have problems coming up with the fees you might be eligible to ask for a waiver of some of the application fees (you still need to meet the requirements of the I-864 though).

For AOS, there is no $70 for AOS processing as it will NOT be reviewed in NVC.
