Way to go Team Canada!!! Awesome game!!!

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied,that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

There was a time many yrs ago when I would get upset when people made ignorant comment about curling being a sport. Then I took a bunch of friends/colleagues out to an open house curling event in Victoria! Seeing them try and gain their balance on the ice and try their best to keep up to the rock was quite amusing! Plus they were quite sore the next day! Their point of view of the game had drastically changed! Its a great sport that can be enjoyed by all levels.

I remember watching the 1998 Olympic curling events with my family.. that year the women won gold.. our family was totally into watching it...

a few years later Sandra Schmirler died of cancer

Schmirler was awesome! In some ways i was glad that Bernard chocked, leaving the Schmirler the only Cdn womens team to win gold at the Olympics!

I just really wonder how Curling came about. I mean, it's like a rock...you slide the rock on ice...there's two guys/girls in front of the rock to scrub the floor.

This is the first year I've watched the winter olympics, and the first time I've seen curling. I think I probably sat in front of the TV for a good 20 minutes with the :blink: face on. But you just can't look away from it!!! I watched the China and Canada match and I was all "gooooo boys!!! scrub that floor!!!"

I bet they'd be awesome at cleaning kitchen floors. ;)

I am so happy we won gold! I however thought that Canada had won within the first few ends... it was Kevin Martin's game all the way! I didnt find it as exciting as the womens finals, but a definite relief especially with what happened Friday.

Ive always watched curling during the winter events but this is the first year I actually really followed all of them (partly cause I always catch the matches!). I think it is my current favorite winter sport so far! Its definitely a battle of strategy and angles! I also like the fact that its not a sport dominated by teenagers :P

I remember watching the 98 olympics too with Sandra schmirler. So sad she died of cancer. :(. She lived in Regina & worked at the community leisure centre (pool, gym & library). Anyways they renamed it the Sandra Schrimler Leisure Centre in her honour.

I curled for one year in Grade 8, you cannot tell me that it's NOT a sport! It's an aerobic activity for sure! I wish I was better at it though! LoL!
