I'm phobic about earthquakes and tsunamis and thinking about it gives me the creeps. My fiance always assure me that being prepared and alert will always be the key. Presence of mind and know-how especially in disaster are vital.

I'm currently living in Samar and it's one of the areas of concerns. Praying that it will not reach Philippines! I'm praying too for all the people in Chile!

American Samoa and even all the way up to the Washington coast is under warning -- albeit they'll be worse in the South Pacific.

Praying for all your families and friends who may be affected!

It is currently striking the Hawaiian islands - especially around Hilo. The expected wave is about 6 to 8 feet but that is still unknown for certain (according to CNN).

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

Does the Embassy there ever give out warnings for women going to their interviews at CDJ? Daytime street gun battles can be hazardous to one's health.

OMG Hopp, I just saw your post! LOL they definitely should! I registered with the embassy in case of emergencies, and this is the first time I have gotten one of those things. CJ is so ridiculously dangerous but since they just built the new embassy I don't think they plan to move it. I have heard some crazy stuff about shootings at restaurants in the city. I feel like they have a real need to cut down on the immigrants ;)

On a more serious note, I hope everyone makes it through the tsunami ok.
