I have to jump in here. In many ways my husband and I are the same, we enjoy the same music, we have the same energy levels, we like the same food, we both love life and adventure. We share many of the same goals and ideas. We also celebrate our differences. We both think the other has the most amazing accent. We learn each other's language (he knows much more English than I Albanian). He is my second husband and love IS better the second time around. My husband initiated the relationship. It never occurred to me that a younger man would be interested in me. Our love is the real deal. Maybe it helps that I've been told I look much younger than my age. We've been told we are a good looking couple. I am 29 years older. I have no idea if this will raise eyebrows at his interview. I hope when they see the mountain of romantic records they will approve.

Timeline

I get crucified everytime I tell my story on VJ and at my job and with my family, but here goes. I am 29 years older than my husband. We are so perfect for each other. There is no way this man is using me for an American Visa. He wanted me to stay with him in Turkey. He was so happy the day we went to get my Turkey Resident Card. I lived with his family for six weeks in Turkey. I decided to come home because I could not get anything done on the visa application from there. Post office was always closed for one holiday or another. I could see that he was getting his hopes up that I would just stay there forever. My father is the only one in my family that approves of the relationship. My bosses do not want to hear about the relationship again. My children make me feel like a criminal. But the worse thing of all is that we have been waiting for NOA2 since early November. No matter what happens we will be together, but I would love for him to come here.

If anyone wants to crucify me again, believe me I am already full of holes.

I, too am 29 years older than my husband, and we are also happy and perfect for each other. My daughters are happy for us. I have not had anything but congratulations from family and friends. The only person who told me I'm crazy is my boss. Hubby and I lived together for 6 weeks but I couldn't take off any more from work, so I had to come back home. Now we are just waiting...waiting for the day when we will be together again.

Carolyn, I have heard them all including he is only using you for a GC ( like they know our relationship. I usually reply with a snide remark like "well good then because you should experience what I got in return." That shuts them up every time!!!! This cougar misses her hubby sooooo much! But we will follow this through until we are together. Purrrrrrrrr

I really did need a laugh and some of these posts made me smile.

I am new to this site, and I have been reading the postings, which have given me strength. My husband is also younger than myself, and everyone is ok with that in his family and mine, its immigration that scares me, they make me so upset even thinking about it I cant even eat, they can make a person feel so helpless and the worst part is they carry the power to decide your future with your husband, if it wasnt for my responsibilities here, I would say forget it and just move to where he is at. Just stopping by to let everyone know your postings are appriciated.

I was looking for the same, to see what was going on in the interviews regarding this. Im not gonna give up, just trying to get through it. I dont know if I should try to hire a lawyer or not, and if its possible not to and for us to be able to do this on our own.

We hired a lawyer from the beginning. We are still waiting for approval. Waiting...waiting. It's hard. We want our life together.

Oh please don't give up. but I do understand your feelings. I would be interested to know how many people of age difference marriages have been approved.

Hello, I can't really give you numbers on "how many" but I know there are more than you can suspect. My husband and I were approved and there is a 16 year age difference. We really don't think about it unless it is brought up by someone. Since we went through Lagos, which is known for being a very very difficult consulate, I feel that front loading the application with every bit of evidence (even included hotel receipts) at the beginning of the process as well as being very well prepared at the interview stage helped our case get approved (and needless to say prayer of course was utmost important).

God Bless you on your journey and Stay Strong!

If you feel comfortable doing the paperwork on your own, then it can be done...the only reason you would need an attorney is if your case was complicated. From what I have read most attorneys just slow up the process and charge a bundle of money for something you can do on your own and with the help of VJ members

God Bless you also on your journey and stay strong too!

Thank you for your input and encouragement. I think our immigration lawyer did not overcharge compared to most of the fees I have seen. I guess we just felt her expertise would help. Besides, we didn't know about VJ at the time!

Please have faith and don't despair unnecessarily. What I am going through with the denial is yet to be determined. They denied 3 of us in one week at the Islamabad Embassy and we think that we all had the same CO. While at the Embassy our husbands saw that they denied all men on those days. One is a lady that was denied which is very unusual. They did not even give them AP. Here is the forum that I started on it if you want to read about it.

Just think about about your future together and be prepared by keeping information about your relationship and make as many trips there as possible.

Thank you and yes not a second goes by that I don't visualize him here with me doing everything with me. Sometimes I cry because I am here doing those things alone. My job is going to make it very difficult for me to go back this year but if he doesn't come here this year then next year will be a must. Wishing all the best to you.

Thank you and yes not a second goes by that I don't visualize him here with me doing everything with me. Sometimes I cry because I am here doing those things alone. My job is going to make it very difficult for me to go back this year but if he doesn't come here this year then next year will be a must. Wishing all the best to you.

I really do empythize with you, lots of tears have been shed, I feel like I didnt get married to still feel single, and everything I do I do alone, wishing he was here doing these things with me.
