Unless you are aborigine :P

Even they're doing well compared to folks in the old rust belt.

First off, I'm not a liberal. You lost me about sitting around collecting money, as I probably pay more in federal taxes than the state of Indiana..

Things are not just great over there, they're excellent.

What is it with folks from the Midwest? Has your loss of manufacturing made you guys loopy or something?

I'd guess it's still anger due to being called "Fly-Over Country" by many on the left still.

Most people know this except for the socialist on this forum.

most people on this forum can't add 2+2 and get 4.

this extension is being blocked because it contains an attachment that will reduce medicare payments to practitioners by 21%.

for everything there is a reason.

wanna guess which lobby is putting cash in this particular senator's re-election campaign (slush fund)?

wanna guess how many other senators are on the take, and why they elected this guy to take the fall?

wanna guess what gets cut from the bill before it gets passed?

wanna guess how long this entire drama has been agreed upon by the parties involved?

another reason this bill did not pass is because one of the ®'s held firm that the money should come out of the unallocated 787 billion stimulus bill and the dems refused. they wanted to keep that money for siphoning into contracts in their districts that are being negotiated by their bigger campaign contributors.

Damn straight it's a fly over. Have you seen those states? They're like rusted out ghost ships, filled with Ogre looking folks that you see in horror films.

The Midwest is a prime example of what happens when you leave people with nothing to fend for themselves. When you allow companies to come and go as they please. Ravage the land for a profit, then leave when they can save a dime in another country.

For anyone from Kentucky or the Midwest, regions destroyed by poverty, to support such an attitude is lunacy. To be honest, the comparison between the average Joe from there to the average Joe in Aus is like comparing yourself with someone from Sudan. Yes, it;s that big. Of course people from those regions do not and cannot travel, so they are left clinging on their guns and any other cliche they hear.

It's quite sad actually that people can be so delusional and blind to their own plight. Furthermore, still actually vote for morons that endorse the reason for their poverty.

Had they had the lifestyle and wealth of Australians, I would totally understand it. Instead they are living in their own squalor, yet still support a Bunning. I guess some people would rather go down as a loser and on principle than admit they were wrong.

Yea, those average Australians are so much better than the average person from anywhere else. Brilliant!

Don't blame the messenger for reporting that the average Joe in Australia lives a 100 fold better life than those in middle America.

It's like the Roman Empire in Australia - they look at the rest of the world and sneer at them as uncultured barbarians.

Not the rest of the world but definitely the America that clings onto their guns. Definitely worlds apart..
