Cost and wait of getting son of USC green card as over 21 unmarried?

Hi there,

My mother has recently taken up her US citizenship, and I'm extremely interested in getting a green card so that I can work in the USA. I'm over-21 and unmarried.

How much does the entire process cost for me to get a green card?

I was also wondering if someone could give me a rough idea how much the whole process takes (saying we filed the I-130 in March 2010)? Just so I can make a few career plans in the meanwhile!!

They are now processing petitions from June 22 2004 so it's around a 6-year wait.

The cost is cost of submitted I-130 (currently $355) plus AOS processing fee (currently $70) plus IV fee (currently $400). You would also have to take a medical exam in your country - not sure what it costs in GB.

If you read the link I posted you will see that annual visa numbers available to F1 category is about 23 000. Highly unlikely that there will be a sudden jump in dates.

unless they give out more visas every year, nope.

My mom is a USC and filed for me in 1999, single over 21, I was able to adjust status in the US because there was a law available called i245i that close on April 30th 2001.

even though it was back in the day, it took me 5 1/2 years until I got my GC. It takes more if you are in your country of origin by consular process.
