I doubt that. I think there is more to this than the OP either knows and isn't telling or just flat out doesn't know. The interview was stopped and he was told he was denied. There was something wrong with the case and it sure isn't the age gap or that he was nervous and blew one question, IMHO.

That's what i was thinking about .Denied him cause he answered one of their question wrong or cause of the age gap it really does not make any sense .People answer some of their questions wrong .Couple with age gap is very common at the USA embassy in Cairo i mean they see that every single day .

Nothing's impossible . Nothing's unreachable .When I am weary you make me stronger

This love is beautiful .So unforgettable . I feel no winter cold when we are together .

Will you stand by me ?!!!Hold on and never let me go .

Will you stand by me?!! With you i know i belong . When the story gets told .

When day turns into night .I look into your eyes . I see my future now .All the world and its wonder

This love wont fade away. And through the hardest days . I will never question us .You are the reason my only reason.

I'm blessed to find what i need in a world loosing hope. you are my only believe .

You make things right every time after time.....

Will you stand by me ?!!!

I love you so much and i miss you so much more .

The phone number is : 20-2-27972200

You can call them from Sunday to Thursday From 1 PM till 3 PM Egypt time'' Friday and Saturday they are off cause its their weekend '' .They will not take any calls on the last Tuesday of the month ''Cause they go to the American center in Alexandria ''

Good luck and my best wishes for ya .

Thank you for your help but when I call the number it clearly states that they will not give specific visa information over the phone. In order to get specific information on a particular visa, one must email the embassy which I already have. Thank you anyway.

I'm feeling so discouraged. I feel at this point, I will not be able to do anything to stop the case from leaving the Embassy in Cairo. I think, it will go through the proper chanels until it ends up at my local USCIS office. My only hope here now is that they allow me the opportunity to present further evidence like of my upcoming trip to Egypt where I will take my children to meet my husband for the first time in person and future mobile bills to show our continued daily calls, chat logs, pictures, etc.

Any other suggestions???

I will stay on the CR1 path...I am keeping in touch with my State Senator's office and Congresswoman as well. I will not give up. I have also ready that with the FOIA = freedom of information act, I can contact the DOS and request that they share the notes the IO wrote on our file. In the meantime, I have decided to visit my husband in April during our Spring Break and take my children so that they can all meet in person for the first time. It is my hope that of course this re-enforces the already made bond between them and us but that it too may help us prove to the U.S. Embassy in Cairo or the USCIS that this is a legitimate marriage inside and out.

Thank you all for your responses. I still hope to hear from any other couples that may share our story. Please anyone out there that can offer us any help/suggestions...we are here to listen.

Sincerely,

Lizz&Mohamed

I too am taking my kids to meet my husband face to face for the first time in April. We have not gotten to the interview part yet. I wish you all the best and keep on fighting to get the man you love. Good luck.

Hello VJ family members-

It's been awhile since my last post but I have been a bit depressed behind the U.S. Embassy in Cairo's decision to deny my husband's CR1 visa.

On the interview day - my husband said everyone's interview took about 15minutes, where as his lasted for 1hour. Let me begin by saying that my husband's English though limited is well enough for he and I to communicate. On the interview day obviously he was a bit nervous due to his language problem but felt comfortable enough because he knows our marriage and paperwork is legitimate. While the woman began her questions, my husband mentioned he felt her upset and somewhat mad, making him feel quite intimidated during the process. He stated that even though she was speaking to him, what he felt was "fast" in her speech...he understood every question and answered it correctly until he got to a question about a short stay I had in a different state from where I now live. (May I add, I did not go into great detail with my husband about this 8month short stay in Ohio because quite honestly it was a horrible time for me). Anyway, he answered this question wrong & as soon as he did, the woman stops the interview and tells him that he will not be getting a visa because in her opinion she feels our marriage is not a legitimate marriage and that she will be returning back our paperwork to the U.S. for the USCIS office to conduct further investigation. She gave him a document and instructed him to mail that to me for my information and dismissed him just like that.

My husband immediately calls me to tell me how the entire process went and was confused about the denial because he took all the documents requested. He had numerous cell phone bills to show our "daily" communication and some emails though I did not print all of them because I felt it was so much (over a year and a half worth of daily chat & email messages), personal drawings my children made for him, and proof of packages we've sent to each other, pictures of my stay in Egypt (with his family)...all this didn't matter to her. I must add on important factor: MY HUSBAND & I HAVE A 15 YEAR AGE DIFFERENCE. I'M OLDER THAN HE.) But my husband is more mature, more a man than my children's father, who just happens to be older than me. I don't look 40 but in my early thirties...Age does not matter to us and both our families are so supportive of our marriage/union. My children talk to my husband weekly via cam-chat and by telephone. He is more a father to my children than their own biological father. I can go on and on about how true our marriage is.

Bottom line, I've contacted both my State Senator's office and my local Congresswoman and have asked their assistance in this matter. My local Congresswoman's office informed me that because I have contacted my State Senator and have requested their assistance, the Congresswoman office cannot intervene. I must chose one office to run the investigation/inquiry into our case. I have also called USCIS regarding the document the Embassy gave my husband and all they told me is that once the paperwork reaches their office, they will make the final decision and notify me. This scared me. I asked her, if before their office makes ANY KIND OF FINAL DECISION, will they allow my children and I to be interviewed so that they can see & hear from our mouth the legitimacy of my marriage. My children have bonded with my husband for over 1.5 years. They turn to him more than their biological father. He is the one they turn to and he has been there via cam and telephone for the ups and downs. He is a wonderful husband and step-father. USCIS could not guarantee me that I would be called. All she said was for me to wait for them to contact me.

Has anyone else had the same problem happen? Please help us. We need advice on how we should proceed. I am not going to give up the fight! Does anyone know if our case is pretty much done? Should we pretty much consider that his visa will never be granted? Do we throw in the towel per say???

HELP!

Thanking you in advance,

Lizz&Mohamed

dont give up we have the almost same problem we got approved for our k1 visa and waited for it to come when it did after 28 days we opened it and it was stamped cancelled without prejudice and didnt know why and said our file was sent back to staes for rejudacation on june 29 2010 we was crushed. im older than him by 25 years but we are so made for each other he is more of a man than my x-old men was. he has lots respect for me and treats me very well.i know what u mean when u say age diff.they think its a crime in egypt but usa dont see wrong. i have contacted my senator and hope he will help. let me know if u need help we can go through this together my man is from cairo

well what happened to Lizz? First of all, it is very very common for muslim men to marry women and have a huge age difference. Someone reading this will know, but I forget the age gap - of their prophet Mohammed and his wife Khadisha. It was decades. Secondly, the interviewers are basing their opinions on western societal ideas. The east does not think the same way as the west. I always make a joke to my husband that if they would just write Arabic left to right the world would get along better. That being said, I met my husband on the internet in 2006 in spring. We became great friends and we remained great friends, and I visited him briefly on subsequent trips to Morocco. In late 2009, the relationship broke the age differnce boundaries and it turned romantic. I returned to Morocco and married him. And for any of you contemplating a marriage in Morocco, be prepared to give yourself 3 weeks minimum to get through the process and HOPE the judge says yes. Our judge said no and I had to break down crying and plead with him before he changed his mind. You will go day after day from one office to another to get papers stamped, sometimes sitting six houurs before the person presents themself. Be prepared to have a pocketful of cash. My husband and I have 30 years difference. We are both intellectuals, non-conformists, and share the same value system. We are so bound together that one would never believe there was any age difference.

I know the people of Morocco quite well and I have studied the people from his tribe for twenty years. We don't care about raised eyebrows. So stop thinking like a westerner and think outside the box. Is there anything in the bible or koran that limits age? And what right does a representative of the American government have to preside over our happiness? We are waiting any MINUTE for an appointment from the NVC. It's going to be a tough fight, we already know that. My husband is such a good and sincere man I hope that the interviewer does not go beyond his bounds to humiliate him.

Hello everyone,

I know that it has been a long time since I have posted.

First, I want to address my original posting ~ there was an GREAT, BIG, ERROR!! Oh my, I can't believe I put down that my husband & I have a 15 year difference. What I meant to say, is it's not like we have a 15year age difference. We actually have a 10year difference. So, with that being cleared up...let me give you all a status update on our CR1 case.

After it was returned back to the states/USCIS for "Further Review", USCIS send me the generic letter of waiting the 180days(6months), processing time before asking for any updates. Well, of course I was not going to listen to that & kept in touch with USCIS on a monthly basis, making my inquiries. Well, 6months came and went and no status update from USCIS. I then, phoned my Congresswoman and gave her the update. Her office made a formal inquiry as to the status and USCIS is now stating that our case is under "Extensive Review/Background Check" & to give them an additional 6months before making another inquiry. My Congresswoman communicated with me and informed me that she will give them 3months & make a more formal inquiry as to our case at that time (January 2011). I asked my Congresswoman what does an "Extensive Review / Background Check" means? And she stated that this is a generic wording they use when a case is simply being reviewed a 2nd time by USCIS. For me not to worry that simply now the FBI is running a background check on our case & that if my husband & I were both hones & forthcoming with all our documents that we should not have anything to worry about, except time.

So, there it is VJ Family. Our patience is being tried by USCIS/Immigration...It is my feeling that they too are dragging this out to see if maybe either my husband or myself will give up on the process and let our Petition go. "FAT CHANCE!". They have another thing coming! While my husband & I have experience some tension and difficult times in our marriage due to this drawn out immigration process, we are still very much committed to being together, a family. We will not give up and endure USCIS process but "Insha Allah", "God Willing", it will all come to an end soon.

I hope this offers anyone in our position some hope and consolation. Don't give up the fight, if you truly love your spouse. While it is a stressful and trying process, in the end I do believe it will all be worth it. Love will prevail.

Sincerely,

Lizz&Moh

Hello Lizz, i am sorry for this delay, i am thinking, 10 years of age difference would not be a big deal and i hope it all goes well and you become together again soon inshallah

I have a question for you as my interview is expected to be in January 2011, is Cairo a hard consulate in general or what do u think ?

Find a job you love to do, and you will never work another day in your life.
