He is pretty skinny all over except he has got a really broad shoulders & chest and a belly.. And no one in his family is diabetic. I am sure he can get it down once he starts working out (after his incision heals).

Once he gets the fat off his abdomen, they'll check again. He should be OK but he's going to have to keep watching what he eats.

 thanks 5!

The thing is, I already drink a lot of water. Now instead of having to pee every 5 minutes it's going to be every 2. I should just move my desk and PC into the bathroom it would save me a hell of a lot of time.

I told you, Luis can use the gas station down the street. If he loves you and the baby he'll do it. Don't forget to cry really loudly, it helps.

my father reduced his metformin intake with a diet and lost weight. he avoids bananas, grapes and everything with sugar or hidden sugar (high fructose corn syrup!). One reason why I avoid HFC and I use regular sugar and no sweetener. Sweetener just tells you brain that something sweet is coming, more insulin produced, you don't get the sugar hence your blood sugar level drops and you crave sweets.

Do you mean artificial sweetner?

Unlike me, hubby does not like candy or sweet stuff. So it has been easy for him to change his eating habits. However, he is frustrated that he can not eat hamburgers, french fries, pizza and mashed potatoes. I have always been on the skinny side, so I never bothered eating healthy. But now that he is eating healthy, it has made me want to eat healthy too. I had baby carrots for my mid-afternoon snack instead of sweet-talking the guy at the deli downstairs into giving me a chocolate chip cookie :innocent:

Physiologically the various receptors will send feedback to prevent insulin from being pumped out, since it's job (among other things) is to facilitate storage of glucose. When the body loses the ability to store glucose and these random molecules go floating around the body, bad things happen. Psychologically people are very dependent on sweets, sweetener is better than sugar but preferably neither should be used if possible. Refined sugar is crack, unrefined cane sugar is batter.

Cheeto, why do you need sugar, you're sweet enough already. :P

High protein, low-fat foods are better but fat makes you feel full longer. DH can eat anything, in moderation. Good for you, Nina, skinny doesn't necessarily mean healthy. You should have gotten that cookie and given it to Sus.

husband said that immigration took less than 10 minutes. he is anxious to get home and sleep. poor baby did not sleep for 2 days straight because he was guarding the visa packet with his life.

I've got a bit of a celery addiction and Mom used to force us to eat carrots every single day when we were growing up. My eyesight quite good and I haven't eaten fast food in more than 6 mos.

BTW, any word on the job?

:dance::dance::dance: I'm glad that he didn't have any hassle, HIS work is clearly visible yet again. :innocent: I don't blame DH for his vigilance with the visa packet, I don't think that I'd let it out of my sight either. Now let the poor man sleep, but only after he puts out the garbage.

I fell asleep, woke up thinking it is tomorrow morning.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.
