Does anyone know of any good, safe, reliable diets out there? Hubby and I are going to go on one. I liked the South Beach diet concept, but not the recipes, when I looked at it a few years ago.

Any form of low carb diet helps me.. Although I would NOT recommend you diet because the minute you stop dieting, you put on all the weight plus some more.

I dunno, Val. When I go on a diet, I starve myself so to find a good healthy diet to follow, I hope you can find one. I just cannot loose weight on diets. It has to be full blown starvation or nothing at all.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

Hey, Nina! I just want to drop a few pounds, then maintain by eating properly after that. I have already implemented portion control into my diet, but hubby is remaining unconvinced about doing that.

And I don't want to do anything that might stress my body out, I do want to get pregnant ASAP!

That's what I did last time. Not starve myself exactly, it's just that I woke up one day not hungry and stayed that way for about a year. I had to force myself to eat once a day. I know that is not good for me, though. Or you either.

I know exactly what you mean. Im eating a salad a day plus ramen noodles and that's it.

To drop a few pounds... I would cut off soda (including diet), bread, candy, potatoes, rice, wheat, etc. I would make stir-frys or fajitas and eat it over a large salad or with a few tablespoons of whole grain brown rice. There is a low-carb tortilla in HEB that is good for making wraps.. And also cut down on caffeine & alcohol and drink plenty of water to get rid of water-weight.

Oh, and also avoid Chinese take-out because they put a ton of sweeteners and corn starch in their food.

You need more than that, Nagi. And much as I am addicted to Ramen noodles, you know they have entirely too much sodium in them, right?

Don't mess with my coffee. No one will like the results if I don't get my coffee.

Hey SisterVal,

The Bishop's favorite diet consists of only two items: Bread and Wine :innocent:

Seriously though...you should try this...it does work.

Ohai, Bishop! Good to see you! The bread and wine thing would work for my, but my hubby, for some strange, unfathomable reason, does not like wine. Would bread and beer work? Or bread and JD & d. coke?
