Peter Falk is about 83 years old...

did you know there were 13 seasons of Columbo?.. the first season was in 1971 and the last season was in 2003...

No WAY! :o I loved Colombo as a character. Oh, I'll have to try and rent those some time. Wow. I know he's an artist (painter) as well, but only has one eye. One of my life drawing teachers in college also only had one eye, but wore a black eye patch (Mike Mitchell....RIP (F)).

I gotta tell ya - that was a stellar breakthrough performance for Mandy Potemkin.

IF YOU GET THE DVD - watch his interview on it. I swear, I wept like a child.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

I sometimes liked to watch the show after the first part where they show who did it.. then I would be surprised in the end... lol

I just checked Netflix and they have the first 7 seasons... they even have them in the "Watch Instantly" section...

 I actually forgot the show's structure. I just was intrigued with the character when I was small. It seems that so many of today's cop shows the lead characters are short on quirky personality traits...except for maybe Monk.

Oh, it's a classic...really well made TV show for its time. Just watch it with him anyway. :)

I have watched some episodes with him before but it tires me sometimes. It makes me smile though remembering Red Hot Chili Peppers singing "Californication" with "Space may be the final frontier but it's made in a Hollywood basement..."

My husband carries a European man-bag....

Just saying

You are the couple in that Progressive commercial?:lol:

Mandy Patinkin, Darnell. Unless you meant a different actor. :P

He was the favorite of my three younger siblings back when he was still in "Criminal Minds." I read his biography and found out that he is also a singer just like Joe Mantegna who replaced him in "Criminal Minds." Mandy can sing Yiddish.

About once every three months, my son and I have long weekend of watching movies. Princess Bride is always in the list. Now that he's older, his lass tags along as well. Princess Bride is a Classic !! I think it was MADE to be a classic, and the producers really weren't so sure about it.

Here's a tidbit - Andre The Giant had severe back problems, so when shooting this movie, they had some crane rigging in the 'climb up the sheer cliff' scene, carefully hidden outta da way.

Ya - I can't spell Mandy's last name - sorry :( Potemkin is the name of a village, I think?

Mandy has LONG career of broadway actor/singer - the Princess Bride Movie was actually a diversion for him, at the time.

Seriously, get the DVD, go through the interviews. Try to get something that was newly released, too - as the '20th anniversary' bits are on the DVD.

I shall try doing that. We used Netflix in watching "The Princess Bride" last week.

I love the Princess Bride. I feel old now however, as I was born quite a few years before it came out. ;)

I was eight when the book it was based on came out ;)

I remember going to see Princess Bride in the theater back in 1987. Time sure has flown.

If you like Mandy Patinkin, rent a copy of Alien Nation, the movie. It was made a year after Princess Bride and he gave another fine performance. :)

Both excellent movies

Loved both those series. I miss Mr. Monk :(
