Well as a couple of others here, I got touched twice last week - march 3rd AND march 4th. I can only imagine that they are looking at our cases. Given the inconsistency of the USCIS in notifying people, they can either email or text or both or neither and just send the noa2 in the mail without any prior email/text notification. I'm hoping that my noa2 is in the mail and will be here in 2-3 days. my noa1 date for my I-130 was october 13th, so as of march 13th, it'll officially be 5 months. I have my infopass scheduled for march 15th...hoping it will be here before then! very very very very frustrating...

I scheduled an infopass appt for March 16 because I have that day off. My case will be a few days short of the 5 month mark... NOA1 dated Oct 21.

Do you think they will tell me anything or will I have to wait til after the 21st? (Just asking because it is a long drive to the nearest office and I don't want to make 2 trips!)

Guys, I am one of them still waiting for approval and MY NOA1 is 10/21/09. Please post your info appointment experience. I also have an appointment for 22march right after 5 months. Should I call their toll free number? Are they anyhelp?

The infopass appts are a great deal help b/c they have a lot more information that the idiots who man the 1800 #s. those guys are just contractors who offer absolutely no help or information that you cant already get from the case status website. also, remember that the USCIS mandate is 5 months WITHIN DATE OF RECEIPT - not date of the notice. the date of receipt is the top date (when they rec'd it); date of notice is when they sent it out. I got fooled by this too. hope this helps...

I just got off the phone with uscis.

All they will tell us is that we are within the normal processing time of 5 months. And call back after we hit the 5-month mark.

I asked about keeping my infopass appt next week (because it won't be quite 5 months), and he said I should... it wouldn't hurt and they should be able to tell me if anything is wrong.

The guys on the 1800 # are just contractors who read the same exact script that is on the case status website. THEY DONT HAVE ANY OF OUR INFORMATION! It is astounding as to how much they dont know. The infopass apt will be much more helpful, as they actually have access to your files regardless of how long it has been (within reason, though since if it has only been 1 week, then I wouldnt schedule it; but if it has been over 3-4 months, then absolutely you should make an appt).

All, I got approval today!!! both email and text notifications saying that they mailed out my approval notices yesterday (both 129F and 130). Thank God this nightmare is over! I hope and pray and wish you all the same as well. Definitely make the infopass apt! At the very least you will know exactly where your applications are in the process. I had my apt Monday 15th and ended up having a really nice officer who sympathized with my situation as he had also been through the process (his wife was from Brazil and he also had to go thru the USCIS). He sent service requests for me and yesterday they updated my cases. Given the fact that my cases had been updated so many times, I thought it was getting updated b/c I had made the infopass inquiries and all. turns out that it was the approval update. However it was only today that I got the email and text notifications and the status on the webpage also changed only an hour ago. Also the other thing I had done to spur things along is to request an expedite based on USCIS error (their website says that cases will be processed within 5 months of receipt; if longger, then clearly in error cuz that means their website is lying). you'll only probably be able to do this if your receive date IS indeed older than 5 months. so make sure it is. remember they have to adjudicate WITHIN 5 MONTHS OF RECEIPT OF APPLICATION (see the top receive date box on the NOA1), NOT THE NOTIFICATION DATE (2nd box). When I asked for expedite last wednesday, they sent me an email on thursday saying that the cases were currently being adjudicated (a different response from the "your case is within the 5 months processing time"). When I went it for my infopass yesterday, they said that my cases were actually being adjudicated from March 2nd itself. it took them 2 weeks for approval.

I wish you all the very very best of luck in getting your approvals and getting through this nightmarish period. Make your infopass apts!
