hello all,

well, yesterday i had a conversation with a friend about immigration and stuff like that .

and he asked me about my visa and how long they gave me in it?

so im a holder of k3 visa and i did my interview in foreign country, and they gave me 2 years till it will expire.

My friend told me that they give just 5 or 6 monthes for the k3, so he thought that if my AOS will be approve, they will give me directelly a GC with 10 years?

-do u think thats really true?

coz really i dont want to stay here for long time to visit my country, and im always thinking if sonething wrong will happen there in my country what i will do, coz they say that you have to spend some time here before you can go back.

- hope that you will give some answers to this question!

thank you all for visiting this topic.

K3 is a multi-entry visa and is always given for a period of 2 years. You have 6 months after visa has been issued to activate it by going through POE.

The GC you receive depends on the lenght of your marriage - if it is under 2 years at the time they interview you for AOS or issue your GC it will be a 2-yr card. Anything above 2 years of marriage will get you a 10-yr card.

The question for you is how long have you been married?

Edited: saw your timeline and looks like you sent in the AOS - most likely your AOS will be done in a couple of months and you will receive a two-year green card (conditional) and will have to remove conditions in 2 yrs.
