For those who have been through the final interview through the process at DCF, do I need to send a receipt of payment with my DS2001 and supporting documents package? I have looked high and low for an amount, or details on what to pay and how to do it and I just can't seem to find it. I do see on people's timelines that a payment was made for an I-864 but I'm not sure this applies to me.

Does anyone have any assistance on this matter? Thanks :)

02/11/10 - Hubby (USC) has I-130 interview at Sydney Embassy

02/11/10 - Hubby and I have CRBA interview at Sydney Embassy

02/17/10 - Medical results received

02/22/10 - Police check received

02/22/10 - NOA2/Packet 3 received

02/23/10 - DS230 mailed off to Embassy

02/23/10 - CRBA received with US Passport for daughter

02/26/10 - DS2001 and supporting documents mailed to Sydney Embassy

03/02/10 - Packet 4 received. Application is complete!

03/09/10 - Visa interview scheduled at Sydney Embassy

03/09/10 - Visa approved

03/11/10 - Visa received

03/19/10 - POE Los Angeles

03/31/10 - Greencard received

04/20/10 - SSN received

As far as I can remember, you pay the immigrant visa fee when you lodge the I-130. You don't need to pay any additional fee when you go to your final interview.

What stage of the process are you in now? I had to go through this in 2008 and was approved (took approx 3 months from date of filing i-130). But we decided to extend our stay here in Australia. Since the visa was only good for 6 months, we have to go through the whole process again.

June 10, 2008 - Filed I-130 at the Perth Consulate

June 23, 2008 - Made a follow up email enquiry, was told "petition will not be approved until a background check is performed on you and you have cleared that process under the Adam Walsh Act."

July 3, 2008 - Received communication that husband's Adam Walsh clearance request was sent on June 23, 2008.

July 3, 2008 - Received PACKET 3 on email!!! soon after previous email.

July 9, 2008 - Saw GP for a varicella shot. Will need to get the 2nd dose after 4 weeks.

July 14, 2008 - Medical appointment.

July 20, 2008 - Fingerprints taken (finally!)

July 21, 2008 - Sent application for Australian name and fingerprint check.

July 22, 2008 - Sent DS-230 Parts I & II .

Aug 5, 2008 - Sent DS-2001 and supporting documents (minus Aus Police clearance)

Aug 11, 2008 - Received Australian Police Clearance

Aug 14, 2008 - Received PACKET 4!

Aug 26, 2008 - Visa Interview... VISA APPROVED!!!

Okay, thanks so much for that info.

It has taken 14 days from lodging the I-130 to having the DS-2001 and documents ready to mail off for my final interview. It is like the fastest time ever! We also lodged a CRBA for our daughter and that got back to us in less than 2 weeks!! It's great tho, as I am living in Australia with our 5 month old and my husband is now back in the US so it has been really hard.

3 months for you? I'm sure it will be quicker this time if my stats are anything to go on.

You pay the visa fee at the visa interview (differernt to the I-130 fee)

the details will be on you Interview notice/packet 4 when you receive it

Yep, pretty sure you will have to pay a separate fee on the day of interview (although I appreciate there are differences in each country). In the UK you have to pay US$355 with the I-130 and then US$400 on the day of interview.
