medical exam expired

We are in the process of filing for k-1 (wife) and k-2 (children 16/18) AOS. Medical exam papers are over one year old, what do we need to do?

I am guessing get a new medical if it is already expired (unless there was additional testing needed). Sad, but you have to spend more money. Call your consulate and see for sure though.

You definitely WILL need a completely new medical.

Contact a Civil Surgeon (list here: https://egov.uscis.gov/crisgwi/go?action=of...office_type=CIV )

The civil surgeon will need to complete a form I-693 (form here: http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis/men...00045f3d6a1RCRD ). Prices vary from place to place but you're looking at around (conservatively) $400-500 per medical. Take your vaccination records with you so you don't need to get all the shots again.

This is a list of civil surgeon who don't rip you off http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=231026 but it isn't a list of ALL cs's just one's people have reported as good. Most of the time we're only looking for transcription because the medicals aren't expired.. but I would hope if they're good for the transcription their medical cost wouldn't be too bad either.

All of you will need a new medical if they're all expired.

You will need to a new medical. Prices vary greatly from place to place. I'm also getting a medical. Mine is going to cost $168 for medical (vaccinations extra if needed). Funny thing the place I called that was 5 miles away from this one was $400 - $600. So call a lot of places to get the best deal.

Because your medicals are all over a year old, they have expired. You will definitely need new medicals. The good news, if you can call it that, is your medical in the US will be probably be significantly cheaper than the medical you had back in the old country. In many countries there are very few approved civil surgeons to do US immigration medicals, so they can set any rate they want. In your area in the US there are likely to be several civil surgeons who are approved to do immigration physicals, so there is at least some small degree of competition. A list of civil surgeons in your area can be found on the USCIC web site. As was said above, phone around to get the best price. You can save, in some cases, hundreds of dollars.
