Hi everyone,

i just received my green card and I would like to apply for Florida driving license. My SS card is still on my maiden name (i am waiting for the new one).Do you think this could be a problem?

The K1 precess took us 9 long months.

AOS

09/25/09 - POE: JFK

10/05/09 - married on K1 visa

11/23/09 - filed for AOS, EAD, AP

12/21/09 - Biometrics

02/01/10 - received work permit and adv parole

02/11/10 - Card production ordered!

02/23/10 - Green card received

1) The document is called Driver License, not Driving License and not Driver's License.

2) No, Your Green Card and your SSN is all you need. Nobody wants to see your SS card. Mine is locked away since 1991 and reads: "Not valid for employment." I have never been asked to show it in almost 2 decades.

In New Jersey your Social Security Card should be in your married name if you choose to change it. I leaned this today the hard way. I couldn't get the examination permit because my Social is in my maiden name and the rest of the papers in my married name.

They (Michigan) wouldn't issue me one because my SSN was in my maiden name.

8/2/2021:  Mailed N-400

8/4/2021: N-400 received

8/6/2021:  Biometrics to be reused
3/15/2022:  Interview (successful)

The correction of the " Driver License, not Driving License and not Driver's License" was not necessary...

Georgia also required me to show my SSN card.
