family name in marriage certificate

we were married in las vegas. the marriage certificate has my family name on it when i was still single and not my married name on it... will it be ok passing it for filing of aos?

Isn't the marriage certificate supposed to have your previous family name on it? I think it would be implied that your name is being changed through the marriage. I think my marriage certificate has her prevoius family name on it as well.

Ours had my surname on it, too. We had to change it through the SSA office. Then we put my new surname on the AOS application, so it's totally fine.

Timeline

The Utah marriage license (that is signed by the officiant and witnesses and becomes the marriage certificate) specifies that the bride's name must be written and signed as her maiden name. It doesn't specify a married name anywhere. Worked fine for us. Approved in 2 months with no RFEs or interview.

ok, thank you everyone! just a bit bothered... i am now clarified... hopefully in the 2nd week of march we will be sending it off... we will need to do the I-693 tomorrow appointment. thanks again! God bless to all of us.
