I'm F-1 student on OPT, and applied for I-485 based on marriage with an American citizen together with an application for I-765. I had my fringer prints scanned on Jan. 21 and was told by the staff in the ASC that I would receive my EAD card one week or two from that point.

Now it's been a month, I still haven't received it (I even got the interview notice on Feb. 6, which says that my green card interview with be on Mar. 10). I tried to call California Service Center many times, but was always put on hold forever.

Does anyone know what the average time is to receive the EAD?

Thanks a lot!

We were VWP adjusters, so I'm not sure if that situation would be different, but:

Generally the time for receiving your EAD is around 60-90 days from the date of your initial filing, if I remember right. We had our biometrics in early February last year and got the EAD card in the first week of March. We actually had our notice of interview date before we had our EAD card. I see no reason for you to worry yet, I think they may have given you confusing information. Sounds like your process is moving fast though! Good luck!

You visajourney timeline (http://www.visajourney.com/timeline/profile.php?id=77734) says "Based on timeline data, your EAD may be adjudicated between February 22, 2010 and March 1, 2010*."

The dates worked out by setting up your timeline are usually pretty good. Mine was out by 2 days, but only because of the snow. It might not make sense with not receiving your EAD and you interview is coming up so soon, but the same thing has happened to me. I jsut got the email literally moments ago saying that the card was produced today, but my interview is this Monday, so the likelihood is that I'll have it maybe a day before they possibly take it from me if I am approved at my interview!

I was told by several USCIS employees that they try to get your EAD to you asap, but realistically it should be within 90 days of your filing. Maybe it is different for you because of your previous F-1 status, so don't quote me!
