Can't see the image, because it is linked from a commercial site. Aparently, they want me working here and not visiting shopping websites.

But back to ketchup. I prefer the american version. Not because it is quantifiably better, but because it is what I know, and have been used to for the balance of my life. I found the Canadian Heinz to be a bit tart.

Wegmans? Zehs? Good Basics?

No Frills? Loblaws?

I've never heard of these places....oh wait thats because I grew up in the prairies....and moved to the midwest USA

The peanut butter & ketchup does taste different from Canadian what I am used to. My husband thinks I am crazy that I notice the difference! But he does acknowledge that Coke made with REAL SUGAR tastes alot better than HFCS! Yuck!

I keep hearing Wegmans has Canadian foods though...I can't get anything good in Nebraska! :crying:

Ohhh look at all the posts.

Not trying to start a war and say one country is better than the other, I just want to hear peoples opinions about different consumer goods in one country vs. the other. Its all in good humor.

I razz on my wife all the time about such things...like, "you guys spell color wrong." I know its not "wrong" its Brit style. I say its wrong but I know its not "incorrect" :-)

I will stick to my guns about Kraft PB though....so bland! :-)

While what you say is true, these are kind of misconceptions about NYC. We have a great-sized apartment and have a car and drive to a lot of places. Visiting is a lot different than living too. I can't stand being a tourist in NYC and hate taking my visitors around to see the city. Being a local is a different world.

I was just being cheeky actually, I hope I didn't offend anyone and even I don't plan to live in NYC forever. But NYC is definitely full of amazing opportunities, interesting and successful people, more restaurants you could ever dream of and a lot of other special things that other cities just don't have. I actually also love San Francisco, Orlando and Las Vegas for different reasons as well.

I also love the sounds of Austin and work with a lot of people there. Can't wait to visit.

Not at all! Also Austin is great. Don Juan Tacos ftw.

But really, Austin is not really part of Texas.

I got to go to south by southwest festival once, and it really opened my eyes about Austin. Great city, but housing prices keep going up and up and up.

Hmmm I guess that would be the proportion of Canadian to American posts.

This last Christmas when I went to a Canadian grocery store for the first time, my jaw dropped. Granted it was a Loblaws. Upscale it would seem. Lots of deli and specialty stuff. I was surprised at the cost though. Much higher than I expected compared to things I normally buy. Loblaws actually reminded me a lot of Wegman's which back when I was in college and spent a summer in Ithaca New York was an awesome grocery store.

I LOVE Aldi's. When my Canadian fiance' tried to tell me that No Frills was the same as Aldi's, I disagreed. About the only thing that is the same is that you have to pay for your shopping cart when you go in.

I like natural peanut butter ( to get to the point of the OP). I love the Aldi brand of natural peanut butter. No hydrogenated oils or anything.

I am just glad that Miracle Whip exists in Canada otherwise my fiance' might have a hard time acclimating to the U.S because there will be no Hellman's "Real Mayonnaise" in this household.

No, not at all. It's the posts of those who are actually making rational discussions, regardless of where... not silly things like ' you guys spell color wrong'. Not directing that specifically at the person that said it, but you know what I mean. It's not really something that is even worth arguing about.

I gave up peanut butter one year for Lent, switched over to Nutella and I've never looked back.

The one thing I like about living in Texas - is that I can have DELIVERED an entire cow carcass from the meat packing plant (I ask them to leave the head there) - precut into cookable pieces - straight to ma freezer.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

I do know what you mean. I think all these threads are pointless. It's not a matter of one product being discernably better than another, it's a matter of personal preference and prolonged familiarity.
