Hi,

My fiance had his interview yesterday on Monday, Feb 22nd. He was asked questions by two people. After 2 hours they told him that he had an issue with his passport and that he was on AP, but they did not give him a reason why. They also returned back all his paperwork meaning like the substancial evidence of us being 2gether. They took his fingerprints and he also signed the DS230 Part II Sworn Statement.

My question is whoever was put on AP did they also sign and have their finger prints taken? Any advice would be helpful. They told him not to call him and when he gets his passport stuff sorted to juss wait for their fone call. When they call he can send them his passport with a Return Airway Bill. So do we not contact the embassy at all? I mean was anyone given a reason why there were on AP, because we weren't given a reason.

He was also given a blue slip and a pink slip. Anyone have any ideas about this slip?

Infact anyone from Saudi that is put on AP given a reason or had to contact the embassy? But i appreciate advice from anyone.

Thank you for your help!

Very few of the MENA posters have experience with Riyadh Consulate, but I'm sure someone will come along and answer all your questions.

It's normal for the consulate to return all the evidence (photos, emails, chat logs, etc.) after the interview...

In Cairo, fingerprints are taken before the actual interview, and I think it's the same case for every other consulate if I'm not mistaken.

Did they tell him what was the exact problem with his passport? Did they keep it?

Almost everyone who interviews in a MENA country is put on AP. Aside from that, the Consulate might have issues with his passport or they might want to investigate it to see what countries he has been to and why. Has he visited any other countries lately or is KSA the only place he has been?

They typically don't give a reason for AP, it is just catch 22 if you get it or not. So don't feel bad for not receiving a reason for that. After you get the passport issue resolved which is the reason why he was given the Blue Slip, then how exactly is he suppose to let the embassy know its done if they tell don't contact them? That is weird, but I believe another VJer here was told by that embassy not to contact them any longer as their case is still in AP and they will call him when it is done but they kept his passport and all documents.

It is typical for all fingerprinting and signing of the document at the interview, this is standard procedure. Just keep your faith and hopefully this AP doesn't go on forever... I know some people whose been waiting at least 3 months for that phone call from the Riyadh embassy and I am one of them but my fiancee was never told not to contact them and trust me I contact them as often as I feel I want an answer and so far I think I am one of the few who actually get responses from them. Just wait a couple of weeks and start contacting them, the worse thing they will do is ignore your email or send you an email telling you again that you are in AP. Don't get despondent yet, the pink slip is actually good news so when he return the passport to them along with the paid air courier bill then you won't have to wait long to get your passport back in your hand.

I will keep you in my prayers.
