he can divorce you in USA - you don't need to be there. You'll probably have to sign a waiver, but that's usually a 'county court' paper, nothing federal.

As to 'reconciliation' - hey -thats between you two, right?

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

hi thnaks fo ryou answer

so i can undestand he can divorce me without know that ?

Not sure from your post exactly where you and your husband are located or even living together. Get the impression you are in Morocco and he is in the USA. Where did you get married?

Do know if you apply for a divorce in the USA and also depending on what state you are in, can contest the divorce, demand reconciliation, or claim abuse and cream mhim for everything he has. Unless he has witnesses to the contrary, but certainly cannot file for a divorce without your knowledge. I know nothing about the laws in your country.

Regarding mistakes, hope one those was not committing adultery, that would tee off any guy. Especially if he is laying out big bucks to bring you here.

sorry - let me be clear(er) -

he can FILE for divorce without talking to you.

for the divorce to be 'granted' at a courthouse, though - USUALLY - you have to sign some paper. In between 'filing' and 'granting' - you will have opportunity to 'contest the divorce' on all levels. If you can't be IN the USA to 'contest the divorce' - suggest you engage an attorney to represent you in these matters, DURING the divorce proceedings.

You have legal rights, as a foreign spouse, during divorce proceedings, always.

if you don't want to divorce, and you don't want to sign -

then the divorce proceedings will be CONTESTED - and heard by a judge.

USUALLY, the person FILING wants the divorce - is no concept of 'prove to judge why divorce not to be granted' -

instead - if contested - then

one person will 'prove to judge' why to divorce, and thats it.

The filing has jurisdiction for 'county' level, usually -

so need to get representation (an attorney) from that county .

Note - that's COUNTY - not COUNTRY ..

If you not engage attorney, then your rights will not be represented, and usually

'your rights are waived'.

You might want to talk to an imam, as well, in the locale where your husband lives (via telephone) - usually, that imam can guide you for all types of resources.

Good Luck !

so its possible to go there to contest the divorce

Unless you have a visa, you cannot "go there" to the USA to contest the divorce. You can be represented by an attorney. You can be notified by mail of your spouse's intent to divorce you.

I'm not an attorney but you should be aware that there's probably little point in contesting a divorce in such a short marriage. You can't force the marriage to continue. You can only contest the terms of the divorce. In most US States, newlyweds (particularly couples who have never resided in the same country together and have no children) are generally not awarded anything financial from their spouses. The general idea is to put things as they would have been financially if the marriage had never occurred.
