Staying focused on working on my car is really helping both of us... I do the work and then we talk about it each day... alot of progress in the past week... so alot to talk about and productivity is a plus...

good for you man, I know that distraction really helps when there are things that are so serious looming over, and you never know all your talking with Thuy with what you are doing might turn her into a motor head and when she gets here you might get her a car to restore.

she has wrecked her motorbike twice since we got it new late last year.. I can't see her getting into spending the huge amount of money on an "old car" as she calls it.. much less driving something with that much HP... next investment is building the house in VN...

Yeah that sounds about right, I am still riding with Binh, after we get the wedding papers done then we will look into getting my license, and then hopefully I wont wreck my motorbike twice in a year, but as we all know the drivers here are khùng khùng điên điên (crazy)

Last month Thuy went to a fortune teller.. I guess it is more common that I had previously thought... I knew they sought the advice of a fortune teller in VN on many things, but I had never been in the loop until now. They did ask about her and I before we were engaged and got the thumbs up.... last month the fortune teller told her we should be out of AP and together by the end of April or May... she went to talk to a different fortune teller today and this one said that she would get news from me after 10 days and that soon after that she would be traveling a long distance.. I didnt want to be the bad guy when she told me this so I only responded that I hope they are right and we will see...

If they are in fact correct, this would bring a new perspective to the whole thing on my part..

My cousin isn't a fortune teller, but she knows how to read palms and cards and stuff REALLY good. The first time I went over there she read my palm "for fun" and told me alot of good stuff about my past, present, and future! Everything she said about my past was true and the present sounded accurate and the future seems pretty spot on at this point :);)

Riding the motobikes in VN isn't too bad. I learned how to ride one my first time there and ever since, it's hard not to borrow a bike now if I want to go somewhere...

I got into an accident twice (both times with my sister)...one time, the bike I was riding didn't have a hand brake so I ended up running into a guy at a stop light--we were already stopped, the bike just kept moving... The second time (same day, same problem), I t-boned a guy who decided to cut in front of us. The bikes were okay, so we just left.

Another time, I almost had an accident with a little girl who ran out onto the street out of nowhere...you gotta be REAL careful about them!

I am lucky, the bike I got is all but brand new, it has great brakes, we plan on going out to district 7 Friday and having Binh yell stop, this way I can simulate something running infront of me and practice controlled hard braking. Riding is the easy part, it is putting up with unsafe driving of the others that is part to worry about. Jerome
