I have 2 spellings of my first name  On my Birth Certificate my name is Melodie, but my mom didnt like it because she thought it spelled Melo "die" soooo on my SS card she spelled my name Melody.. so my whole life I used Melody until I turned 16 and got my DL, they had to put my name as it was on my BC. But then when I opened up my Bank Accounts I had to use Melody because my jobs always had to be in "dy" form because that is what is on my SS card..... aaaaaaaaa My passport and all legal documents are in Melodie, only my job/bank/taxes are in Melody

SO now I am filling out the AOS I-864, the whole visa process I have used Melodie (I-130, I-129f, G325a)... but when I turn in my tax transcripts and pay information my name is going to be Melody.... What supporting documents can I turn in along with this so I dont get an RFE for my name? If I do get an RFE what do you think they would require to fix it? Is it going to be an issue? Should I just write an statement and explain why there are two spellings? Looking for some advice on what to do

I have looked into changing my name on my BC, but it always was such a hassel that I just never did it... I can see that was a mistake for my procrastination :bonk:

What is on your marriage certificate?

My Advice is usually based on "Worst Case Scenario" and what is written in the rules/laws/instructions. That is the way I roll... -Protect your Status - file before your I-94 expires.

WARNING: Phrases in this post may sound meaner than they were intended to be. Read the Adjudicator's Field Manual from USCIS

The I-130 has a block where you are required to put other names used (Section B, number 7). The I-129F has a block where you are required to put other names used (Section A, number 7). The G-325A has a block where you are required to put other names used. Did you not fill out those forms correctly?

 I feel so much better... I called and talked to a NVC supervisor... this is what they told me to do so that I dont have an RFE.... make a copy of my SSC and BC attach a letter from me on top explaining the 2 different spellings, include this in the AOS package that I send in... and the Supervisor said that there will not be any issue.... But to keep my name that is on my passport on all the forms that I fill out :dance:

I never recieved an auto kick back to let me know that they recieved my DS-3032... so I overnighted it to them via FEDEX... after I spent $38, NVC decided to email me and let me know that they accepted it :P my advice ... patience young grasshopper... if it makes you feel better to mail them a hard copy of the DS-3032, then do it... I am just stating my personal opinion :star:
