Hey guys !!

Im between packet 3 being sent and waiting for my interview date and the suspense is killing me I hate waiting for the letter Is there a number i can phone to see how they are getting on with my packet? What do I say to them?

I sent mine off on the 15th January, and still haven't heard anything. So I wouldn't hold your breath, buddy.

I suggest if you can call, do it, in my case, I sent the package 3 on 20 January and 9 days after I got my interview date, of course, I didn't wait to know the date, I called them

I think it takes a while to put in the system even after they've received it, I waited 5 weeks to hear back from them.

Call if you can, and sit tight.

You can call department of state (DOS) which is free to call from the US, compared to calling the Embassy which cost something like 1.20GBP a minute. When calling DOS, you have to talk to someone and give them your LND number and they will tell you the status of your visa which should be something along the lines of having packet 3 and what not. London are taking quite a long time to schedule appointments at the minute and it's not unusual to wait more than a month at the minute.

DOS: Dial 202-663-1225 Then press 1 and then 0 for an operator.

Is it worth ringin the embassy then and give my case number and ask them what the dealio is ! Or should i get the missus to phone the DOS and ask them?

Everytime my girl has rang DOS they have been fairly quick to answer and very helpful. So I can recommend calling them =)

We sent our packet on the 25th of Jan and we were told we had an interview by DOS on the 17th of Feb. Our interview is on the 5th of March. It seems to vary widely so I would say the best thing to do would be to just keep trying DOS. I wouldn't pay to call the embassy unless you HAD to...why spend the money for the same info you can get for free?

My fiance wants me to just phone the embassy to find out where they are up to on it like. shes in work at the moment like and cant call the DOS. i dont think she will tbh i think she wants me to sort it out lol

You could call them but I don't think you're likely to get much of an update just yet. From your timeline and how long it's currently taking London to process packet 3s DOS is likely to say they are still awaiting your response. It's what I got for almost a month after I sent mine in.

I think buying a phone card and calling DOS from England would cost less then phoning the embassy!
