Ok, need a little guidance.

Is is customary for someone is Russia to not share nor tell very few people in Russia of your relationship. I have been asked to not share photos of us with my friends also?

Im trying to determine if this is a RED Flag or just a Cultural difference.

Any advise or experience would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Craig

HI!

Its just an old cultural thing i guess. She doesent wanna you to show the pictures fo you together to the friends and just wants to minimize the amount of people that could possibly see you on the picture together,as according to the old saying these people can put a bad eye on both of you and the relationship might be destroyed.

Thats very weard ,but there are alots of bad eyes in Eastern Europe and Russia ,a lots of jealousy ,envy a lots of unsutisfied angry women and some people ,especially the older ones. She might be also thinking that these things are happening in every country and doesent want you to show your guys pictures until you get finally get married .

Well, thats what i think ,but just ask her later about this as thats might be an answer.

Sincerely.

Sweetgirl! Thank you for this interesting post!

Craig, how about her parents and relatives? What about her Mom? Mom is true best friend for russian woman! I am not sure about red flag at your situation. However, it seems like something wrong and strange here. Really, you do need to ask some questions of your fiancee.

My fiance is a fine, mature, intelligent woman who has asked me not to show my friends photos of her and doesn't like that I talk about her so much.

Given how slow we are taking this process, she has gotten a little used to the fact that I see things differently, that I'm proud of her, think the world of her and her beauty.

She suffers from a lot of black envy, both now and in the past, and she doesn't want to hex the situation by talking too much about it.

I think many fine Russian women are like this.

It is most probably just a silly thought, but still

Maybe she had some photos of her somewhere in the internet, and she is afraid that some of your friends may recognize her?

Wow, that's a good one!

I actually had a buddy of mine call me one day and say "hey dude... ah, if you were looking on the internet at some girls' profiles and saw a girl that you knew your buddy was supposed to be "with" would you tell him about it?" (I knew where this one was going...) I replied back "Sure. I'd want to know, so of course I'd tell my buddy." He said "well, check out this website link. There's a girl on there that looks pretty familiar."

Sure enough, it was Elena. Her and I had a good laugh about it later, as we've both had online profiles in one form or another for a long time... and it's not like anything on the internet is "hidden."

Another time, my friend (that's my story and I'm sticking to it) was looking at some pornography on the internet and saw a girl that looked a lot like her too. He sent (once again, sticking to the "my friend" story) me the link for the pictures, and although it did look a lot like her, and was in Russia (outlets... you can always tell where photos were taken from things like electrical outlets, architecture of the buildings, clothing styles, cars, appliances in the homes, even things like advertisements on bus stops or billboards... seriously, check it out next time "your friend" sends you some pictures.) it wasn't her. (Sizes didn't match up.)

But, if your girl does have an internet profile on a "marriage" site or even just a personal profile somewhere, that is a possiblity of why she doesn't want you to show anyone the photos. (Or, maybe she did some "work" that appeared on the internet and doesn't want anyone to know about it.) Hmm. A very interesting point, timelena.
