Do it like a blog? You can post some short experiences, do some compare and contrast to the US etc. We can police it ourselves to keep it on track, like we did in the America Appreciation thread.

Ok. I'll get around to it.

No.

Good, because I'd rather not talk about it.

I was in the mens room taking a dump earlier when the motion-activated lights went out. Very disturbing. Had to sit in the dark for a few minutes until someone walked in and the light came back.

Did you let out a wimper?

Back to topic. This is about a job bill and Brown being independent on his voting. Can he continue doing this, or will it become all talk as it usually does? Can one man start a trend. Will the Dem's listen and be willing to compromise? Will the Republicans open their mouths to say something besides no? Does anyone care about the people?

This is not a start of a trend but a continuation of one. New England Republicans have always steered away from the party line on issues like this.

Can it spread to other areas? Would we be better off with more independents instead of each party sticking to a strict agenda?

It has. Democrats elected from parts of the country where the GOP is strong also routinely buck the party line. Did you know Senator Nelson (D-Neb) voted against cloture on this very jobs bill?

This may seem new and novel but it is not.

Do you think this is good? Will bipartisanship be better for us overall?

Depends on what bipartisanship accomplishes. A bill that passes with 50 Senators + Biden could, in theory, be better than a bill that passes 99-1 (since Ron Paul votes against everything).

I'd like to see anything that would have a 99-1 vote!

That's an easy job, get elected and show up to register no. How does Ron Paul get away with that?

Refusing to use the spellchick!

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .
