hi !

I will submit the I-130 in Monterrey Consulate. They told me I can use a co-sponsor because I dont have any income from US. My question is...I dont have many friends in USA, and all my family is in Mexico. But my ex - husband told me he could be my co-sponsor...do you think he will be accepted as a co-sponsor? (he is american citizen and makes more than enough money to qualify).

As an asset I have a house here... its value is around $80,000 dlls..can I use it as well?..and what do I need to prove their value?

Thks

Marisol

I am not sure about the house, because many (not all) consulates want the assets to be US based, because then if needed, it is easier for the government to go after it. So you may want to ask your local US embassy directly whether they'd accept it.

The ex-husband is ok as a co-sponsor, though it may raise some questions as to why you are still so close to him that he is willing to be co-sponsor for you/ your new husband. As long as you have plenty of bonafide evidence with the new spouse, you should be fine though.

About the house you are right.. it must be in USA.

My ex-husband and I have a daughter (14 years old), she is living with me in Mexico, but she will start the high school on August (thats the main reason will go to live in USA again). He thinks will be better for her if I am with her instead of living just with him. Thats the main reason he wants to help us to fill all the requirements, because he knows that I can not leave my baby here in Mexico and go with my other daughter to USA. I think that is a good reason... (and of course it is true)..maybe I can get a letter from him explaining the reason..do you think this will help?

Thanks for your comments.
