Not to mention the 'who does man think he is imagining he can actually alter the planet that god created for us' crowd. We have already made visible alterations to the planet and we've caused hundreds of different species that god created to disappear completely. Was that our destiny too?

[Al Gore] has really got nothing to do with it beyond trying to spread the message more widely.

He's invested quite deeply into companies that would skyrocket if green legislation is passed. The Telegraph was saying he could become a billionaire off the legislation.

So, he has quite a bit more motivating him than just spreading a message.
