Why is it that Al Gore defines the climate change debate for so many in America? He's really got nothing to do with it beyond trying to spread the message more widely.

I don't know, Bill. You chose to quit right at a crucial part of the debate.

I hope you can at least understand better now my perspective on it. I don't need complicated charts or countless articles to convince me of the basic principles of climate change. I've understood it since back in high school. Those principles are sound logic as it applies to science. Whatever issues there may be in collecting specific data (ocean levels, arctic ice levels, etc.) or errors doesn't negate those principles. And what I find troubling is that you probably know that but continue to muddy the waters with trite like this thread that somehow the whole theory is one big 'fool me' moment in history.

I would love to get into a debate over the theory of Global Warming and how manmade CO2 emissions are making a significant impact with Bill, but history tells me he hasn't got the cajones to do it.

Yes Marc, we are all going to die. You'd have thought people were interested in science and what humans can achieve, but obviously Americans still believe in destiny, although perhaps no longer of the manifest variety merely pre-ordained. How's the sand looking down there Marc?
