Hmmm... when you put it like that, I can understand why we have to prove our relationship. 19 days for us. But oh.... The stories... In those 19 days we've gone through so many parts of being in a relationship. Both the fun ones and the not-so-fun ones. Going halfway around the world just to end up fighting... Ugh! But now we giggle about those times.

Just imagine how things will be in another 37 days, Ats. How great!!

I'm a firm believer that you either know from the beginning that "this is it" or you can spend many years together and never be sure. It's all about the quality of those days :) Best 25 days I had in my life....Going through this process is a small price to pay for it.

Ok I take it back about the small price.... :crying:

25 days total for me... :crying: I can't wait for the moment when I will uninstall Skype.....However painful it is right now, I'm glad that we took this route because at least we know that this is the last time we'll have to be apart...

I remember the first month I came back to the states after spending 3 months with my hubby.... I cried everytime we talked (so I barely talked to him the first month I was back home) ... I couldnt go onto webcam because everytiime I looked at him I would have physical pain... seriously... hardest 7 months of my life... I have been an emotional wreck.... I think it is easier right now... actually knowing that this journey is almost over.. On more than one occasion I had started to make plans just to move there and wait out the visa... and in reality.. that would be in July.. I would travel back to be with him on our anniversary and just not come back until he could come with me. I am sooo glad that everything is progressing so this isnt really an option right now :P

Mrs!, I totally agree with you about the privacy part. I love my in-laws and Thai friends, but they can be so nosy at times! I know you only wish us well and don't really understand why I don't want to tell you everything, but please.... please.... just stop asking and poking and snooping!

I know, it's awful! I can't even fight with hubby because my mom and sister get mad at me saying I'm being mean to him!

They protect him so much here!! Arghhhh!! lol

And how about friends asking "when are you going back to the States?" all the time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I just want to answer, "NOT YOUR BUSINESS"! or "Why?? Do you want to pay for my ticket?" LOL

I agree. Those 19 days were super valuable to both of us. Now I can understand the consular side, too, though. They weren't with us those 19 days. Or any of the other 1700+ days that we've known each other. It's only natural that they'd be a little suspicious and curious to know what's going on between us.

Guys,

Got any free time? See how many days you and your spouse have known each other. Or been dating/in a relationship. Or until your anniversary/birthday/whatever you want. I just found it and now I'm amazed.

Us... We've known each other 1794 days and been in a relationship 1582 of those days. Woo!

YES! You are right... 37 days from now.. hmmmm! It used to be me counting down the days until I saw him again. Best 37 days of my life. Hard to think how just over one months time could make my whole entire life turn around.

I'm a firm believer that you either know from the beginning that "this is it" or you can spend many years together and never be sure. It's all about the quality of those days :) Best 25 days I had in my life....Going through this process is a small price to pay for it.

Wow. Your post made me cry. I totally know this feeling. The physical pain I swear I felt it (FEEL IT STILL) in my chest, even down to my fingertips when we speak. We have been thru more hell than I could even imagine... and not just the time apart.

I started crying in the plane.... Then tried to compose myself because I knew that if I would cry for the whole 16 hours (which I was planning to do at first) could be a little disturbing for the other passengers.... Could not listen to any music that we listened to together without crying for about a month. He sent some of his things with me, and I stashed them far away in the closet because it's just too painful to see them.....

But I can see the finish line now :)

Yes!!

Husby is a lawyer. It's the season for promotion exams right now. His boss, friends, brother, mother, and others who know he's a lawyer keep asking him "Are you going to take the exam to be judge?" "No? Why not?" "Oh. You should really stay here and be a judge rather than move to the US. When are you going? What kind of visa? Is that easy to get? What do you have to do? What's your wife like? What does she do? How much does she make? Is she pretty or is she fat like other Americans? Why wasn't I invited to the wedding? Oh... You're having the wedding after you get the visa? But then how can you get a spousal visa?"

Enough!!!

This is just another reason I love Husby: He's so patient with them. And so skilled at answering their questions without really giving them any solid information or commitment or saying something that he knows would upset me. Very different from me. I miss him!!

Ladies, I'm busting out the stash of coconut ice cream. --Passes out bowls of ice cream. And tissues.-- Thank you all so much for your support and understanding and fun and friendship. The journey would be so much more difficult without you.

Sounds like a great guy! Patience is a virtue.. UGH.. I have been FORCED to gain some during this process.

I miss my husbands smile and the quiet way he has about him. He can peel me off the walls just as quick as he can make me crawl up them!

I remember this one night... I was at a breaking point in India... I was burning up hot... the power had gone out... and I was at the window looking out... humming a little tune... trying to be positive... Hubby came up from behind me and gave me a hug...and asked me what I was doing calling the aliens... (hehehehe) I turned around and screamed at him... that I hated indian food and I wanted a chicken chimichanga... he was like... what do you want?? LOL I actually love indian food... just not for breakfeast lunch and dinner... I think this was our biggest fight... But.. I got to go to a Mexican resturant the next night :P

Honeymoon~ had a lovely time.. went to a little villiage called Khirsu..<on the outskirts of the Himilayas> on the way there I thought the taxi driver was purposely trying to kill me... going about 80 mph around this mountain  I had to lay down and not look out the windows... Honeymoon was good, but all good things come to an end.. so it was time to leave... in a cloud burst of rain... the side of the mountain in front of us washes away... we end up stranded on the side of the mountain for 2 days... no food, just some water I brought along... we were in this tiny of tinest car.. no a/c no baths.. no proper way to go to the bathroom... and I giggled the whole time...Amit wouldnt even let me roll the window down because he was worried some animal would come and attack us in the night... can you imagine the way we all smelled  I think this was the best time of my life!!

haha, I was also crying all the time at the airport and on the plane. My mom went to visit us a month before I had to leave, so we came back in the same flight (couldn't have done this without her). So when I was passing the security I was crying like crazy and had my face red! Everybody was looking at me... I think they thought somebody had died or something!

Good thing I didn't come back alone... my mom was a great company and helped me a lot. (Maybe this time I'm gonna be crying with hubby, missing my mama? lol)

haha, I was also crying all the time at the airport and on the plane.

(Maybe this time I'm gonna be crying with hubby, missing my mama? lol)

LOL :) My mom actually was with me too ) She flew with me for the wedding. And while I was trying to be discreet about my crying, she started discussing with the other passenger the reason why I am upset.....If it wasn't for her I would have never composed myself....

Crying with hubby is the best.....I told him I would be poking him all the time when he comes just to make sure that he is real. And I'll probably knock him down in the airport attempting one of those very romantic scenes of flying into each other's arms :)

I NEVER cry at airports. I hate public / emotional scenes as a matter of principle but I totally lost it at JFK when I was leaving last June. This old man next to me thought I was having an attack or something. He got me to sit down and drink some water.

Also, we attracted a lot of attention at the Calcutta airport when he was leaving. Indian girl crying and kissing a Weasley twin look-alike in the middle of the airport was quite scandalous.

Okay, now an actual update -- The Husband just got off the phone -- nothing has changed, they're still processing it, but the woman said we should know something by the end of the week and when he asked about an April interview, she was, like, "uhhhh, I dunno."

Sooo, yeah. GAH.
