NVC March 2010 Edition!

Hello all

Sorry but i'm new to this and don't know if i'm doing it right but here goes. My fiance' had her interview on March 5, 2009 and she passed the interview but it was suspened because I have CML ( cronic myelogenous leukemia) which is treatable with medication BUT because i am on disability social security my income is not allowable as income. My son said he would cosponsor and also my stepdaughter said she was willing to do this also but neither lives with me and they have no assets to speak of. Is there anything I can do?? Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. have a great day and THANKS

Yes we do! My husband didn't even know we have this day! lol

I've never heard of anybody celebrating it when I was living in the US, though.

Yep people in US don't celebrate it & thats a shame. Why not have an extra day for us great women to be pampered. In Ukraine just about everyone gets flowers on this day among other things.

ITS AN INTERNATIONAL DAY SO I BELIEVE ALMOST EVERY COUNTRY MUST CELEBRATED FOR ME IT SHOULD BE THE ENTIRE YEAR ..HEHE

That is a terrible sitation and I wish you and your fiance the best of luck. Do you yourself have any assets? Maybe you could bring the matter to your State Senator's attention? I am not sure, but please keep us all posted.

QUESTION!!

So, what is the longest you have had to be apart from your spouse? The longest I have been apart from my husband was 3 mos. If we get a May interview, it will be four months and the longest so far. Im curious to see everyone elses experiences...

and I'm killing time while we wait for the portal to become active and for the NVC to give us some updates.

Hey, we will need a little more information... did you file a K-1 visa? you say that it was suspended... not sure what you mean by this, you are either approved or denied... at the interview what did the letter say that they gave your fiance'?

I know someone on here that is on disability for a back issue, and they were able to still sponsor there husband with no issue.

and as far as your son and DIL they can sponsor as long as they make 125% above poverty level... they would have to include themselves and any children that live with them when they are trying to figure out if they quailfy... and the form they would fill out would be an I-864..it does not matter if they have an assets or if they live with you... as long as what they earn in one year is enough...

Anyone can be a joint sponsor for your case so long as they are a US citizen, national, or legal permanent resident and make enough money. The poverty guidelines are at http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/i-864p.pdf . If they don't live with you, that's not a problem. They would fill out the I-864 -- the same form you filled out -- which can be found at http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/i-864p.pdf .

I'm so happy she was approved all except for this little bit. The good news is it's a very fixable little bit. Good luck!
