I'm still here and still waiting.I could'nt resist calling them again after Lashbanda broke the good news.

I ended up speaking with a rude operator.

I'm starting to think they DO keep a log of all the times you call, coz the operators just keep getting ruder and ruder (is that a word?) every day.

Or maybe its just how they are as the week progresses.

Anywho...

She said it was still under review and that I should call back end of next week, like that's gonna happen...

Oh well, I guess Ima havta take to cooking too to get my mind off of this stuff.

I think I might make me some traditional Hyderabadi Biryani...mm mm mmmm..... :P

(Look it up,its an awesome dish created for kings) ;)

They do keep a log of all the times you call... Although they don't explicitly tell you that, I ran into one instance when an operator told me that. But I think they know that everyone with a case @ NVC will call more than a few times a day and they're prepared for it. Some operators are just plain rude, while others are really nice.

Cooking is a good idea to take your mind off of things.... Biryani sounds goods right about now.. :)

All,

I have two questions on DS-230:

1) Documents that need to be submitted such marriage certificate, PCC should be in ORIGINAL or CERTIFIED COPIES: How are most applicats submitting them? What if we lose them in the mail or at NVC? IF Cerfied copies can be submitted, who in India can certify them? Can an attoney with Power of authority certify them?

2) NVC letter says that "write your case number clearly (exactly as it appears below) on the upper right-hand corner of all documents"

How can we write the NVC case number on original certificates?

Would appreciate your help on the above two questions

Thanks

1) Certified copies as per NVC are different from notarized copies. A certified copy as per NVC is a document from the issuing agency with a raised seal or something to that effect stating that it is not an original rather a Certified copy of it.

I wouldn't worry about sending in your originals as you should mail them to NVC with tracking number & insurance. If I may be so bold, most of us have submitted our originals to NVC.

2) I wouldn't write the NVC case number on the originals, but on the photocopies that will be sent along with the originals to NVC.

YES! A cooking weekend for all maybe. Anything to get my mind off this. Goodbye March Week One

It sure does seem like the longest week. To keep my mind off I went ahead and applied for my US passport. I think I am hooked to doing paperwork after NVC and needed my fix. But one paperwork I don't need is an RFE :-)

I paid both of mine on Saturday, and both are still in process! Well, I think they are, I have no idea what has happened today. I wonder if the payment portal being down is related to us not getting our paid statuses?

With the payment portal being down and having all ready paid, did it show in your checking accounts that it had been deducted??? That is how I knew mine went through, even if the AVR and website no updating, I knew that the money was taken out!!!:wacko:

I usually call before 8:30 am, est, to get thru to them. The earlier I call, the shorter my hold time is. (Not that it does me any good!)
